Detention, Depths of the Castle, Friday

So, one of the important things to realize about detention was that the monotony of everyone's daily lives was part of the punishment. That meant that even though someone had died yesterday, the day's schedule didn't change a bit.

After all, most of your little lives just weren't that important in the grand scheme of things.

Phoebe wasn't sitting or trying to be small today. She was pacing as she kept an eye on who came in.

Elle had never played with Phoebe before, but she was feeling like a challenge today.

"Hi," she said cheerfully. "You look rather... spirited today."

Phoebe looked at her and her lips drew back in a snarl. She had seen what this girl had done to others, so she wasn't all that happy to see her.

"Don't you have some batshit crazy pink old lady shoes you need to be licking somewhere?"

Electricity crackled along Elle's fingers. "That's no way to talk to someone who's trying to be friendly," she chided.

"Friendly?" Phoebe scoffed. "You people don't know how to be friendly. You come down here and torture and kill and then wander off like it's some great game to you. Well, we're not a game and I'm done playing."

"Oh, you'll play," Elle said evenly. "Trust me, you'll play."

She reached out to brush a lock of Phoebe's hair back -- only to send a sudden sharp shock through the other girl's body as her hand made contact with Phoebe's temple.

Phoebe cried out from the pain, trying to pull away from Elle as she did so.

She should have expected that, but she was so angry that she had dismissed what Elle could do to a person.

Elle made a tsking sound. "Oh, don't pull away," she cooed. "That's no fun, and we don't like it when I'm not having fun, now do we?"

Not that her toys liked it when Elle was having fun, either. It was really kind of a lose-lose for them.

"You don't dare kill me because you know what would happen to you if you do." She smiled in the lest friendly way possible. "I'm going to get out of here and when I do, you're going to have to pay for every amount of pain you've caused me and everyone else in here. Cole will end you."

She didn't know him by that name, Phoebe.

Elle brought her other hand up in a sharp slap, electrifying her hand as she did so. "Nobody is going to make me pay, Phoebe, least of all some random friend of yours."

Huh. So bitch-slapping while electrifying her hand turned out to work pretty well. She'd have to tell Topher about that one, never mind that she'd promised he could be there to see it. Oops.

Phoebe's head whipped to the side from the force of the slap. She bit her lip to keep from making a sound.

"Your days are numbered, you psychotic bitch."

"So are yours," Elle replied cheerfully, placing her hands on Phoebe's shoulders and giving her a good hard shove up against a wall even as she sent current coursing through the other girl's body. "And somehow, I think I'll outlast you by far."
