Detention, Depths of the Castle, Thursday

Another beautiful day had begun in Fandom, not that anyone in detention would have noticed. The lack of sunlight, the pleasant sound of Umbridge's voice, and the slightly stale smell of breakfast were all important aspects to making every day in detention routine! Surely everyone knew that surprises were no fun.

Look, the week was half over already and no one had been taken out and killed so far. That had to count for something, right?

Emma wasn't stupid enough to wade in to a mob of angry rebels, so she waited until it seemed most of them had at least gotten some licks in before pushing her way through, shoving the older blonde - Yurika, her mind supplied - out of the way and grabbing Raven by the ear.

"Raven," she said, and Emma's voice echoed physically and telepathically for all to hear. "Auntie Emma is Most Displeased right now, and we are going to go have a 'talk' about breaking the toys."

"Namely, that if you ever push this line again, I will make you relieve every single moment of everything you have ever done to anyone else, magnified, and you will not enjoy the pain. Now get up, you pathetic lump."

Raven snarled and tossed her head as she rose, pulling herself from Emma's grasp. Words almost formed on her tongue, that Emma was so very foolish and wrong, that she would enjoy the pain. It nourished the demon clawing inside her. But her mind was still too fractured and unstable. She needed to get away. And Emma's own arrogance was such a soothing balm.

"Very well," she said.

Emma's bored, cool facade never even blinked as her hand snapped out to deliver a blow across Raven's face.

"You are a waste, and a danger to the students at this school," she said, boredom written across her features. "Talk back to me again, and there will be nothing left in your head for your mistress to put back together."

Raven caught her hand before it could strike her. "Go fuck yourself," she said coldly, keeping her fury contained. "You cannot touch me. Do not delude yourself into thinking that you can."

But she couldn't handle a fight at the moment, so she left on her own power, stalking to the door and teleporting herself away once she reached it.
