Detention, Depths of the Castle, Thursday
Another beautiful day had begun in Fandom, not that anyone in detention would have noticed. The lack of sunlight, the pleasant sound of Umbridge's voice, and the slightly stale smell of breakfast were all important aspects to making every day in detention routine! Surely everyone knew that surprises were no fun.
Look, the week was half over already and no one had been taken out and killed so far. That had to count for something, right?

"Diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinah," she called, waggling her fingers. "Did you miss me? It's okay, pet. I'm here now. We should...chat."
Re: Visiting Hours [07/26]
Did they get to Karla? Please let it not be that, please let her not be Imperio'd. Please?
...but why else would she be here? Dinah's stomach was in knots.
Re: Visiting Hours [07/26]
Karla was planning on discussing how to get you out of here! Obviously.

She was going to ignore the comment about the High Inquisitor for now, but she filed it away. Dinah was going to have to pay for that one, yes she was.

"Is that an invitation to tangle, darling?" Karla asked. "I get to use my Craft now. It won't even be close to a fair fight." Her eyes closed as her hands flared blue. Ahhh, it did feel good to be able to use her Craft freely again. "But if you need a bit of incentive before you decide to listen, I'm more than willing to provide it."
Re: Visiting Hours [07/26]
"I said in here. Think you could take me without your magic? Or let me out there, see how Craft does against telekinesis and how very, very long I've had to think about this."
She would not grieve for Karla yet. Not yet. Not while she was standing in front of her. "I always listened. Did you ever listen to me? At all? ... If you had, you wouldn't be here."
Dinah watched the glow, and braced herself.
Re: Visiting Hours [07/26]
"I listened to you, Dinah," Karla crooned. "For three years, I listened to you. And what exactly did that get me? Betrayed. Craftless. Hungry. I lost friends. I lost lovers. And all for nothing. Lady Umbridge is going to win and I'm finally on the winning side."
Re: Visiting Hours [07/26]
Well. Not unless this didn't work, anyway.
Re: Visiting Hours [07/26]
She looked up at one of the first friends she'd made in Fandom and, for once, let some real emotion bleed through. "You're my friend, Dinah. Let me help you. Don't you ever get tired of fighting?"

"I don't want to be used as a weapon," Karla admitted, whispering as if she were confessing something bad. Her hands were pressed up against the barrier as if she could reach through and clutch Dinah tightly. "I don't want to hurt people. But so long as people keep opposing her, she's going to fight back. But you can end this, Dinah, don't you see? We don't have to keep fighting!"
Re: Visiting Hours [07/26]
But there were far more broken people on this side of the bars who needed help more.
"Don't ask me for anything, Karla." Dinah's face hardened. "You don't have the right any more. Either torture me for points with your Mistress, or leave me the hell alone."
Re: Visiting Hours [07/26]
"I tried to be nice," she hissed. "Because I loved you. Don't think that's going to last. The next time I decide to rattle your cage, birdie, you're going to wish you were in Hell."
