Detention, Depths of the Castle, Thursday
Another beautiful day had begun in Fandom, not that anyone in detention would have noticed. The lack of sunlight, the pleasant sound of Umbridge's voice, and the slightly stale smell of breakfast were all important aspects to making every day in detention routine! Surely everyone knew that surprises were no fun.
Look, the week was half over already and no one had been taken out and killed so far. That had to count for something, right?

Re: Chat With Your Fellow Prisoners [07/26]
... That was a compliment, in Jono's way.
Re: Chat With Your Fellow Prisoners [07/26]
Was that a joke?

//And if we ever get out of here, won't that be a sight to see?//
For what it was worth, he probably wouldn't ask her to knock birds from the sky, if they ever managed to escape.

If he got out of here, he could. That was the thing. He could level the whole bloody island, if he felt so inclined. Even with his affairs a little more in order than they'd been before, the prospect of stepping away from the power dampeners and into his own full capacity frightened him a little.

They had a Hulk. That on its own made them virtually unstoppable.
//Home... That's th'place with the water? The one you showed me the other day?//

She hesitated briefly. "Is there something wrong with your home?"
Re: Chat With Your Fellow Prisoners [07/26]
For some reason or other.
//And... London is fine, I suppose. There just isn't any place for me there. I left after my powers manifested, didn't think I'd ever look back. Trouble is, th'place I went to... Well, I'd gone to school. Not here, I mean. A special sort of school, for people with mutations that set them apart from baseline humanity. And even if I wasn't too old for that school now, I wouldn't go back there. Not with Emma Frost playing headmistress there.//
That would be the nice way of putting it.

She wasn't sure.

He looked around for Jack, and then gestured vaguely in his direction once he spotted him.
//Likes to pick on him. Has very little in the way of manners when it comes to reading minds.//

Which was fine. He still wasn't completely convinced he wouldn't be down here forever.

Re: Chat With Your Fellow Prisoners [07/26]
//You get quite the assortment of different sentient species out there, then?// It was intriguing. Hell, it was tempting. A different world entirely, where humanity and their loathing of mutants was a complete non-issue.

Maybe he'd find out later. Maybe.
//So I'd be a bit of a curiosity,// he mused, //but nothing particularly frowned upon, so long as I don't commit some sort of serious interplanetary faux-pas.//
Good to know.

She rubbed the back of her neck again. "My species can produce offspring with any sentient being," she explained. "We feel doing so adds to the species. Purebloods like me are... well, it's complicated."
