Detention, Depths of the Castle, Wednesday

The good news for everyone in detention was that there wasn't any sign of singing going on on the island today, so everyone could be spared from any further embarrassing admissions that they'd rather not have made.

The bad news was for everyone in detention was, well, they were all still in detention. But surely, it was getting easier to deal with over time?

"And I did not wish to startle you." Scent of Heather apologized as well. "Are you sure you are okay? I know it can be trying at times, being here." She'd lost track of how long she'd been here herself. But she knew she'd been here when Liara arrived.

"No, I really am fine," Liara assured her. "I just... yesterday..." She waved her hands around. "The singing was. Different?"

"Ah, yes. That." she had been happy to let Leda deal with that. The silly girl had quite enjoyed it. "Things like that sometimes happen, in my experience. But it never lasts. And we all regain our dignity as best we can."

"I think mine is proving... difficult to salvage," Liara admitted. "Though I suppose it could be worse...?"

You could be human. she thought. Or be sharing your body with an idiot who enjoys comporting herself like she was in a circus. At least Florida had some sense.

"It could. Remember, everyone else here felt the same effects."

Liara sighed. "I am just not used to this," she admitted. "Humans are strange enough as it is."

Scent of Heather sighed. "To borrow a human saying," she said, "You can say that again. My parents sent me here to learn just that lesson." She'd learned rather more than that of course.

Scent of Heather was taken aback for a moment. She knew she was short for an elf (5'7''), but surely her long, pointed ears would have given it away. Leda (or Scent of Heather at the moment) has pointed ears. Sorry I didn't have any icons for that :D But after a moment she realized that this girl might be unfamiliar with this world enough, that just different ears wouldn't be enough.

"No." she finally answered, managing to keep her disgust out of her voice. "No I am an Elf."

"Oh," said Liara, who... well, honestly she thought all humans looked alike, and the pointed ears were a negligible difference. "I... am sorry. I had not yet heard of your people."
