Detention, Depths of the Castle, Wednesday

The good news for everyone in detention was that there wasn't any sign of singing going on on the island today, so everyone could be spared from any further embarrassing admissions that they'd rather not have made.

The bad news was for everyone in detention was, well, they were all still in detention. But surely, it was getting easier to deal with over time?

She liked that reaction so much better than defiance, and she sucked in her breath with a little hiss of pleasure. It meant someone was so much closer to being broken completely.

"We have not spoken in a few days," Raven said, kneeling down beside him. "I told Sookie I wished to come over and say hello."

As far as buttons to push, that was... definitely one of them. His head snapped up at Sookie's name and he glared at her in what would have been a threat if he still had the ability to use his powers offensively.

"You wish you could hold her, do you not?" Raven said. "Well, without giving her frost bite." She snapped her teeth at him on the final word and giggled.

More than anything. They hadn't had much time together on the outside, before circumstances had seen them both thrown in Detention. But he wasn't going to give Raven the satisfaction of picking that up from him. Stubbornly, he clamped down on that feeling of longing and did his best to project a blank wall at her.

She had the briefest taste of that longing, like something sweet on the tip of her tongue before he clamped down on his thoughts. "I asked Sookie to let me feel her love," she said, scratching her fingernails against the ice of Bobby's arm, heedless of how cold he was. "But she could not. She does not have any within her anymore."

She'd heal in moments, Bobby knew, but it was still satisfying to watch the tips of Raven's fingers turn red and cracked with frostbite. A smirk played on his lips. Really, she was terribly lucky the magic of Detention kept him from actively trying to hurt her.

Raven hissed in pain, but healed when she withdrew her hand, just as he'd known she would.

"Show me what she could not, Bobby," she said. "Let me feel love. And then I can bring it to her and no one would ever know."

As far as Bobby was concerned, someone like Raven was beyond love. So all she got in return was a scowl. Of course, if she really poked at that mental wall he'd tried to put up, she might be able to sense how desperately he just wanted her to leave.

Oh, she was definitely poking. "Let me in," she sing-songed. "Show me what I wish and then I will leave you alone."

Maybe.

"Just think of her. Call her to your mind. Think of how you feel."

He rocked backwards, his head connecting with the wall with a sharp crack.

He wasn't going to give her what she wanted, no matter how many times she asked.

"So stubborn, just like her," Raven sighed.

She poked harder at his mind, battering against the barriers. "If you let me in, I will leave her alone," she promised.

For a day. Or two, if she was generous.

The poking finally elicited a response... but not from Bobby, precisely.

Oh, sweetie, can't you see you're getting nowhere fast?

Apparently presenting a united front against a threat was a bigger priority for Emma than remaining annoyed at Bobby.

"Emma!" Raven exclaimed in delight. "I was wondering when you would make yourself known."

Her taunt just made her press even harder now.

Emma, meanwhile, was just going to push right back. She might not be a telepath herself, but she was still a fragment of someone who was. And if she wanted to continue to survive that meant not letting Raven have Bobby.
