Detention, Depths of the Castle, Monday
Morning had broken in Fandom, and another day in detention was about to begin, the same as every other day.
For the moment, things were as quiet as they probably ever got, while everyone was still resting on their cots, women on one side of the magical black cloth barrier, men on the other. Soon, those who had managed to sleep would be woken by the ever-cheerful voice of Dolores Umbridge coming from the loudspeakers, ordering them to rise. The barrier would disappear, and whatever bland, tasteless substance they were calling breakfast today would appear instead. After that, those in detention were free to do whatever they wanted ... if they could find anything to do that didn't break one of the island's rules, or that could be done while trapped away from everyone else.
But really, the days of those in detention weren't that slow. Soon enough, visiting hours would start, and there wouldn't be nearly as much boredom then.
[OCD is up, have at it!]

"Emma's playin' games today?"
Re: Chat With Your Fellow Prisoners [07/23]
"Hey," he greeted softly. Sookie, at least, always knew how close she could get without feeling the effects of his powers. Not like some of the others, who had to be reminded.
Re: Chat With Your Fellow Prisoners [07/23]
It was Emma. You had to check these things.
Re: Chat With Your Fellow Prisoners [07/23]
Which... often involved tactics that fell under the classical definition of 'cheating', yes.

She rest her head on her arms, looking over at Bobby. "Need anything?"
Re: Chat With Your Fellow Prisoners [07/23]
He had to acknowledge, if not appreciate the irony there: the curse that had trapped him in ice-form and sent his powers spinning out of control acted as a far more effective deterrent than simply removing them altogether would have.
Re: Chat With Your Fellow Prisoners [07/23]
Someone was a touch literal.

She was always fairly useless in the late afternoons.
It took a little digging through her own memories on her part, but she conjured it up a moment later: a distinct memory of apple pie. The smell, the taste, the texture -- she sent that across the link, though she wasn't even sure whether to trust her own memories anymore. It was something.

Which was better than the time there had been the distinct aftertaste of ashes, but still.
He didn't comment, though, just focused on the feeling of appreciation for her efforts, sending that back through the link they shared.

There was one thing she was good at, though. Through the bond, she conjured up the memory of a tight hug, and even a wispy little Bobby and Sookie to go with it.
She was getting tired, but the message was clear. Sookie opened her eyes and smiled weakly at him.

She darted a glance towards the door, worried. She lost track of time so easily, and with moments like these, she was always terrified of what would come to break them up.

His gaze followed hers and his smile turned tighter. "We've got a little while yet."
