Detention, Depths of the Castle, Monday

Morning had broken in Fandom, and another day in detention was about to begin, the same as every other day.

For the moment, things were as quiet as they probably ever got, while everyone was still resting on their cots, women on one side of the magical black cloth barrier, men on the other. Soon, those who had managed to sleep would be woken by the ever-cheerful voice of Dolores Umbridge coming from the loudspeakers, ordering them to rise. The barrier would disappear, and whatever bland, tasteless substance they were calling breakfast today would appear instead. After that, those in detention were free to do whatever they wanted ... if they could find anything to do that didn't break one of the island's rules, or that could be done while trapped away from everyone else.

But really, the days of those in detention weren't that slow. Soon enough, visiting hours would start, and there wouldn't be nearly as much boredom then.

[OCD is up, have at it!]

"We'll find some place that serves it both ways. In newspaper! That way I can choose and you can have as much as you like," Dinah decided, going for balancing on one hand for a moment. Then the other hand. "With blues music, and really loud rock. And sing along. And get you a new guitar, too."

Happy birthday, Jono. Dinah wanted to get you an Escape, but, well. This was all she had material for.

Sometimes she wanted to scream. Or sing. But there was no privacy here at all, and driving everyone else bonkers was a good way to start a fight. It had been ages since she'd done anything but hum. "Then sleep. For as long as we like."

Freaking loudspeaker at oh-god-hundred.

//Sleep,// Jono agreed. That one sounded like the best sticking point of them all, and he didn't even really manage sleep on a good night. Too many nightmares. Too many faces of people that he'd fought alongside, cut down, or worse. //I think sleep might have to come before all th'rest.//

[Ducking out the door to go to work, now! SP for a bit!]

"Works for me." Dinah lowered herself into a contained somersault, and rolled up to her feet, smiling at Jono. "We'll save up the details of the bed-place for later. Hours and hours and hours of sleep."

[bye, and I go sleep myself now! back around noon my time!]

//And then after that, we'll sleep in?//

Lord, it sounded like a dream all on its own, didn't it?

"Yeah, why not?" Dinah stretched her arms over her head. "I'll even make sure no one wakes you up."

//My hero,// Jono replied, something almost like a smile twisting its way along with his words. //At this rate, I might never wake up again.//

And it would be glorious.
