Janet unlocked the door to the library, turned on the lights, and sat down behind the Collections Desk. She warily eyed the rather strange-looking romance novel with the centaur and the mermaid on the cover. It was just lying there on the corner of the desk.

Janet's pretending to be awake. The extra-large cup of coffee sitting in front of her is helping with that.

Janet's got a book open and is pretending to study.

Alas, Janet has to go to Journalistic Integrity. Maybe one of the other library assistants can help?

Janet's back from her class, and she's somehow managed to refill her coffee mug on the way.

The library is closed so the aides can eat their lunch. Shoo. Or try to charm us into letting you in.

The library has reopened and Janet's starting to look a little curiously at that book with the mermaid and the centaur.

Janet is idly reading the back of the book with the mermaid and the centaur. It looks like the start of an entire series. The next one is about a dryad and a salamander?

Nearly the end of the day, and Janet's off to her TA meeting with ~~Methos~~ Dr. Pierson. But if you're in the library during seventh period on a Friday, what's wrong with you?

Peter sat down at a table, determined to actually study for his Government class in the library this week. He didn't have a test or anything, and he was actually slightly ahead in his studying.

But this was a point of pride. This class. This place. Studying would be successfully done.

Angela is in a supiciously good mood for someone who just came from math class.

John comes into the library, notices Janet behind the desk, remembers the voicemail he got and immediately goes to hide behind a shelf of books.

"Hey, Angela," said Janet ~~finally remembering to check back in this thread~~. "You seem awfully cheerful for this hour of the morning."

Janet went to see if she could hunt down John behind the bookshelf. Of course, he could probably run from there to hide behind another bookshelf while she was on her way back there from the Collections Desk.

John vacates the bookshelf and stealthily moved to the very back of the library, taking shelter behind an old dusty bookshelf.

"Do I?" Angela said innocently, hopping up to sit on the counter. "I'm getting a visitor tonight, so I guess I'm happy about that. I mean, it's weirdm but I'm really .... happy. Yeah."

Rory arrived with her laptop, and curled up to do some research for Campaigning.

"That's good," said Janet. "So who's stopping by? Family? I think any visitors from home would be weird here at FH."

Janet started moving back farther in the library, looking for John. He shouldn't be able to sneak out past her.

Unfortunately, the farther back in the library she walked, the dustier the books got. And Janet's allergies were triggered ~~whenever the player darn well felt like it~~ by excess amounts of dust, despite her daily antihistamines. So she sneezed. Loudly.

Angela shook her head, drumming her heels happily against the counter. "My ex. Which, I know, sounds like a weird thing to be happy about, but we really reconnected last time I was home. He used to be in a band with Tino -- he works at Caritas? -- and I guess he has an amp or something to drop off. He said he'd have dinner with me if he had time."

Oh, natural alarm!

John heads away from the sound of the sneeze and looks for an open door or a table or a window.

He finally finds a large chair...so he crouches down behind it.

Since the only window Janet knows about in the library is the ~~mysteriously shifting~~ very large, high-up one the giant snake vandalized on Zombie Weekend, she's pretty sure that John can't escape.

On the other hand, he's kind of hard to find. Except she thinks she sees a flash of movement or color behind the large armchair that someone put in the library before the school year even started.

"That does sound a little weird," said Janet. "But weird in a good way. Tino." She paused to try and remember who he was. "The guy that doesn't give out the umbrellas unless you ask for them?" Unlike Parker's friend Jarod, who wasn't stingy with the little drink umbrellas. "So you guys are still friends, then? Or do you think it might be something a little more than that?"

~~Often~~ Occasionally, Janet feels the need to indulge in gossip about her friends' love lives. It makes high school more fun.

Since they were in the back of the library and John thinks he hears someone coming, he makes a break for it towards the front of the libary. Maybe he could get out of the libary...

"Hah!" exclaimed Janet, as she sees John burst out from behind the chair. "Caught you! You got me detention! When all I was doing was expressing a sincere concer--"

She can't keep it up any more and starts laughing. Damn.

"Hi. Do I have a library card?" Sam walked up to the counter and put her bag on the floor. "I need to check out a fiction book about the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain to read before Quantum Physics on Monday, but I can't remember whether the library's going to eat me if I try to do that."
