"The Others take this heat," Jaime said, digging at his collar with his left hand. So, perhaps full armor with the slightly less white thanks to Fandom cloak had not been the best of ideas. But, a man had to look the proper knight, did he not?

Not even the wonderful cool air they pumped into the buildings helped.

"Welcome," he said, louder now. "I am Ser Jaime Lannister of the King's Guard and I will be teaching you the duties of a squire. But first I would like to know your name and house--" He eyed a familiar sigil for a moment. "If you have one at all. I would also like to know why you have decided to take this class so that we don't waste time on those who lack the commitment necessary for the role."

There was a fair number of girls in the class, which made the corner of his mouth turn up into a grin. Oh, the wench would have loved this.

"Who will be first?"

"Well, my dad's Ares--that's the god of war, uh, the Greek god of War, in my universe and maybe yours too, I don't know--and I'm Phobos." He shrugged. "Fear Son of War? It's sort of an Olympian organizational thing, I guess." Why did Jaime make him even more babbly than usual?

"A god. That sounds like something best left up to a septon to debate," Jaime decided slowly. Because the lad seemed well enough aside from that minor insanity. Reminded him a bit of Tommen in his looks... "I did always go to the Warrior when I prayed."

"I don't know what a septon is, is that like a priest?" Alex asked. "And, I mean, I could prove it? But, fear god. No one would really enjoy that demo."

"So you sort of worship my dad? Huh. You hardly ever find that these days, except for, like, crazy cultists who want him to be way more evil than he actually is." Alex did way better being god of Xbox, even if half his offerings were in Mountain Dew and Cheetos.

"A priest for the Seven,"Jaime replied, shifting uncomfortably at the mention of a demonstration with fear. Yeah, no thank you. "None of them are supposed to be evil if you listen to the septons. I'd agree, but only because I doubt they're interested in us enough to bother."

Because he'd still have a hand if prayers were answered.

Losing a hand was kind of a risk you took when you worshiped War, Alex might have told him. Alex was occasionally unhelpful and a little eerie like that. "Some of them are evil," he said, thinking of Amatsu-Mikaboshi. "But my dad's just misunderstood."
