"The Others take this heat," Jaime said, digging at his collar with his left hand. So, perhaps full armor with the slightly less white thanks to Fandom cloak had not been the best of ideas. But, a man had to look the proper knight, did he not?

Not even the wonderful cool air they pumped into the buildings helped.

"Welcome," he said, louder now. "I am Ser Jaime Lannister of the King's Guard and I will be teaching you the duties of a squire. But first I would like to know your name and house--" He eyed a familiar sigil for a moment. "If you have one at all. I would also like to know why you have decided to take this class so that we don't waste time on those who lack the commitment necessary for the role."

There was a fair number of girls in the class, which made the corner of his mouth turn up into a grin. Oh, the wench would have loved this.

"Who will be first?"

"My name is Cassidy and I'm from House Dharo." That sounded so strange to say. "I'm taking this class because I'm always looking for more knowledge to better serve my people."

Cassidy nodded. "In my world, I'm a Queen." There was no attitude in the statement. She was still cheerfully answering a question.

"Another queen," Jaime replied. "I can't seem to go two feet without finding more kings and queens running around."

Shhh, most of them were dead now.

"There will be no consideration for your sex in this class. If you wish to learn, you must learn that few people care what you have between your legs when you hold steel. They only care to kill you."

Cassidy gave him a serious look. "Sir, where I'm from, our people find a lot of pride when their women can hold a sword or a stick and defend themselves. I have never relied on my gender to keep me out of trouble and the day I do will be the day that my friends and family send me to a Healer. I want to learn as much as I can because to keep myself safe is to keep my land safe."

Jaime nodded at that, leaning back against the desk, false hand only a bit awkward against it for support. "And where I am from, your majesty, a woman wielding a sword is laughed at when men are kind. And when men are cruel..."

He thought of sweet Pia and how she always covered her mouth when she smiled.

"It is for the best that you are sincere in this. There aren't second chances outside training."

"Cassidy, please, sir, or if you must use Protocol, then Lady Cassidy. Majesty is not a term we use back home."

She tilted her head. "I want to learn everything I can to be a good Queen to my people, Sir Lannister. I am very sincere and in your class, I will always give everything I have."

Unless Shira saw her and stopped her from using too much energy and too much Craft...

"Lady Cassidy then." He smiled, inclining his head. "Ser Jaime will suit. Too many Lannisters on island, I fear. You may confuse myself and my brother."
