Philosophy of Choice [Monday | Period 1]

"Choose," Ronan said. Behind him, in the Danger Shop created hallway, were two doors, identical save for a word on each: "yes" on one and "no" on the other.

Stepping back, Ronan gestured at the doors. "Choose," he repeated.

[OCD up!]

Okay, sure. Sparkle was game, why the hell not?

And he was feeling fairly optimistic today, after an evening spent eating Sholeh's marshmallows yesterday.

With a shrug, Sparkle chose the Yes door.

"Um, duh," Sparkle said, to that voice that couldn't be seen, and he went right on through the door with the guy on it.

He had no interest in that other door, okay?

Sparkle made a bit of a face at the next bunch of doors.

"Let me guess," he ventured, looking at the ceiling, because clearly that was where Ronan was right now, sure. "I go through here, and there's gonna be two more doors?"

Besides. Everyone knew that it was Istanbul, not Constantinople.

Surreal looked at the doors, looked at Ronan, called in a book and sat down on the floor to read.

Someone was a bit cranky after finding out there was an entire Day of Fathers here, and she wasn't even allowed to stab Kartane someone on it, yes, and was taking her contrariness out on everyone else in the world.

[ooc: feel free to just toss her through either door if needed!]

Cassidy was quiet as she thought about the choice and then swallowed.

"No."

She shook her head. "I'm sorry. I was thinking out loud."

She gave him a smile before reaching for the No door.

Cassidy had no idea what Chartreuse was, so she reached for Aquamarine.

The thoughts of everyone around him existed as a constant stream of mental 'noise'. Sometimes, he managed to quiet that noise down until it was a soft background hum... and then sometimes he opened himself to it fully, deliberately.

Like right now, as he was trying to figure out if there was actually a right or wrong choice to make here, his eyes going wide and unfocused as he listened for any sort of clue from Ronan's thoughts.

...Nothing. Well. That was frustrating.

With the slightest shake of his head, he reined in the telepathy as best he could again and opened the door marked 'Yes'.

Upstairs it was, Toby decided, stepping through.

By now the frustration of his fellow classmates was starting to creep into Toby's awareness, and he grinned suddenly, turning and flinging open the door he'd originally come through. "I think I'm done," he announced, before stepping through.

There didn't seem to be a lot to consider, so Ryan closed her eyes and picked a door at random. She ended up going through the Yes door.

Ryan picked the "Right" door. She figured she couldn't go wrong with that one.

This time, Ryan spent a bit longer trying to decide using the "Eeny meeny miny moe" method. She ended up going through the door marked "Top."

Mercy chose 'Yes'. Why not?

Richie was feeling a bit contrary today. The No door was definitely the way to go.
