Advanced Criminal Justice, Class 10, Period 1, 02.09.06

[OOC: After Tuesday? Easy class. Have fun. No real need to take notes, even though Tick mentions it, and no real need to keep the chatter at a minimum. I kind of want to know what happens in the episode by the time class is done, so chatter away. Class Info Post.]

The Tick was standing at the podium when the class walked in. Lockheed was in the back of the room with popcorn.

"Okay, class! After the... fun of Tuesday's class," Tick began, abusing sarcasm on the word "fun," "I thought it would be a good idea to slow things down, take it a little easy, and do a few little things today. Most importantly, at the end of class, Rory will be giving you a writing assignment. Yes, class, you will have an essay to do."

"Before that, though, we will be watching an episode of Crime & Punishment which starts with Detectives Larry Boscoe and Mark Loggin investigating a murder in a hotel. Please take some notes on how the different branches of Justice are portrayed in the series and keep the chatter at a minimum."

"But before we do that, I have something brief I would like everyone to do. It's voluntary, but I really would appreciiate it if everyone did it. For both my sake and yours, I would like you to take a vow in the name of this class. You too, Rory."

[Continued in the OCD threads which will be up in a moment are up. Rory will have her own thread for the writing assignment, so watch for that. Writing assignment is up. Give it to Rory by next Thursday.

And now there is toast. You know what kind.]

"It's clearly a 'Doink Doink'. Do you have a problem hearing things?"

Al appears and rolls his eyes. "Careful, Sam. I don't like the look in that one's eyes."

Trying not to attract attention, Sam scribbles out a note and places it where Al can read it.

I know that, but people are asking too many questions about why I'm not acting like Marty. Apparently he has a death wish.

Also keep your voice down. The blue guy can see you remember?

"Are you ashamed of me now, or something? Me and Professor Tick are old friends."

Al puffed on his cigar. "Okay, okay. You have important studying stuff to do. I'll come back later. Ziggy hasn't found any other leads anyhow."

Sam wrote out another note.

Ha. Ha. How can I be ashamed if no one can see you? Listen, something came to me last night. What if the problem we're looking for has to do with Marty and his recent break-up with Angela? Did Ziggy check anything on that?

"Ah, so if they could see me..." Al joked, punching a few buttons on his handset.

"Doesn't look like it. The odds are 50-50 Marty and Angela reunite and are still together in five years. Nothing you could do changes that."

If they could see you they'd question your fashion sense. :)

Have Ziggy run it again and take into account their different time periods. I know she'll throw a fit, but she has been *wrong* before. Just tell her I'm being my usual irrational self.

"As you wish," Al says, bending over to read the note. "I think she did that already. But I can certainly double-check."

"And I thought you liked the way I dressed."

And with that, Al is through the golowing door.

Jaye writes something on a piece of paper, folds it up, and throws it at Marty's head.

If he opens it to read it, it will clearly say "CHUNG CHUNG."

Sam wasn't exactly sure what to do with the note. Technically he was a middle aged man in a teenager's body. He should be above such childish behavior.

So he writes down a phonetical diagram showing how the sound is more "Doink" than "Chung" along with annotations and footnotes.

Then he remembers the conversation he had with Bridge and crumples up the work and just tosses back a note that says "DOINK DOINK".
