[OOC: After Tuesday? Easy class. Have fun. No real need to take notes, even though Tick mentions it, and no real need to keep the chatter at a minimum. I kind of want to know what happens in the episode by the time class is done, so chatter away. Class Info Post.]

The Tick was standing at the podium when the class walked in. Lockheed was in the back of the room with popcorn.

"Okay, class! After the... fun of Tuesday's class," Tick began, abusing sarcasm on the word "fun," "I thought it would be a good idea to slow things down, take it a little easy, and do a few little things today. Most importantly, at the end of class, Rory will be giving you a writing assignment. Yes, class, you will have an essay to do."

"Before that, though, we will be watching an episode of Crime & Punishment which starts with Detectives Larry Boscoe and Mark Loggin investigating a murder in a hotel. Please take some notes on how the different branches of Justice are portrayed in the series and keep the chatter at a minimum."

"But before we do that, I have something brief I would like everyone to do. It's voluntary, but I really would appreciiate it if everyone did it. For both my sake and yours, I would like you to take a vow in the name of this class. You too, Rory."

"I'll bet their key witness is lying," said Janet. "Just because she's a nun doesn't mean she has no ulterior motives."

"Nothing wrong with nuns," Angel muttered.

"I didn't say there was anything wrong with nuns," said Janet, wondering why the heck Angel was being so defensive when Angelus was the one who had a thing for nun porn. "Just that they're as flawed as the rest of us."

And if Angel had a thing for nuns? Janet wasn't so sure she wanted to know ~~which meant Angel should really give free rein to any TMI, of course~~.

"Right, right," Angel said, absently. He perked up as an outdoor shot was used. "Hey! I've been to that convent!"

"You have?" asked Janet. Then, before she could think about if she wanted to know the answer: "When?"

"80s," Angel said, absently.

"Were you good or evil then?" she asked. "And please tell me your fashion choices weren't dictated by Miami Vice."

"Souled," Angel said. "Didn't watch much TV then."

"Why not?" asked Janet. "Not that you missed much."

"Didn't own one."

"I've known some really angry nuns," Parker agreed. "Nuns who would steal your fake I.D. because they weren't allowed to go out partying, for instance. The nun could be trying to blackmail the real killer."

"That would be a good twist," said Janet. "Maybe the nun will end up dying at the end."

"And hopefully she'll confess who the real killer is before then." Parker shook her head. "I don't think it's the mime, I'm with Sam, I think it's the proctologist. But I'll bet she was protecting someone else."

"But who?" asked Janet.

"The singer. She's got that dead-eyed, 'coulda been a mime' look to her. The only reason she's not pretending she's in an invisible box is because she can make a living singing," Parker said firmly. "Bet me."

"No bet," said Janet. "Though if you're right you can stop by the room later and we'll celebrate by harassing one of my roommates. That's always fun."

Parker grinned. "Jack, Marty, or both?"

"Both," said Janet. "It's less fun if you harass them singly."

"Since I know Marty will be having an awful, awful day? I'd like to be there to gloat about it." Parker grinned. "I'll see you at your place later, definitely."

"Sounds like fun," said Janet, who had no clue what Marty was planning for later that day.
