For once, Electroclash looked to be in an okay enough mood as her mostly-new batch of students filed in. Or, at least she wasn't actively scowling at them. You had to take what you got with her, okay?

"Alright, kidlets," she drawled once it looked like everyone who was about show up had done just that. "As some of you know ––" Possibly all, if they knew how to read their class timetables. "–– I'm Electroclash, and this is Heroics, Fame, and You." She barely kept herself from rolling her eyes at the class title, and picked up some stuff off the table. "Basically, I'm supposed to tell you how you can get your face on stuff like this." She held up a comic book and a stack of what appeared to be trading cards. "Or how not to make a complete arse of yourself in the promotional photo shoot for your first cereal advert campaign, and all that stuff. But we'll get to that starting next week."

Because bah, like she'd prepared an actual class for the first week? Please.

"Today is introductions, and if you couldn't see that one coming I am sincerely wondering how you even made it through the door today. I want you to tell me your name and your power. If you don't have a power, tell me something else that's special about you." No reason. Like, say, fodder for their new capenames. "Or if you were in my last class, just tell me something amusing about yourself. We have a whole class's worth of time to kill here, kids. Let's get to it."

"Oh, yeah, one more thing," she added, glancing at the paper on her desk, "says here I'm supposed to have a grad assistant called... Rinoa? So yeah, that's one TA. And Flying Sycophant ––" Sorry, Billy. "–– you get the other spot. Now, introductions."

"Victor Mancha," Victor said, with a tiny wave. "I can control metals and electricity."

Which was a simple way to put it that didn't involve announcing the robot thing again.

Electroclash raised a mildly interested eyebrow. Because hey, her name was Electroclash. That last bit was right up her alley.

"Is that a psionic ability or ...?"

"Technical," Victor said, and cleared his throat as he decided that if something had been on the radio and he was incapable of getting through a 10-minute conversation without mentioning it, he had already thoroughly blown any chance of a cover.

Besides, he was kind of curious about the teacher's code name, too.

"I'm a cyborg. It came with the package." He raised his left hand, let the faintest shimmer of sparks dance over his fingertips.

"Ohhh." Both eyebrows bounced up, perhaps a little too gleefully. Probably because the next words out of her mouth were a tentative, "|cyborg snap fingers|."

Could have been worse. She could've tried to make him slap himself in the face, after all, but he hadn't annoyed her so it didn't feel warranted. Plus, this probably answered some questions about her power, which was some odd mix of verbal and psionic qualities.

Snap. Snap. Sna-

And that was where Victor grabbed his wrist and brought his hand around behind his back as he firmly told himself to stop snapping. He'd set up firewalls against hackers, but those didn't really help when somebody made their own private verbal portal.

"Not funny," he observed, annoyed but not truly angry. "And it looks like my security system's still got a few holes in it."

Electroclash chuckled a bit, and didn't apologize. If she'd been the type, she wouldn't have done it in the first place.

"Looks like," she agreed cheerfully. "'Case you couldn't tell from that and the name, I control machines. Never met one that talked before, though."

Yeah, Victor was going to be reviewing the files on the breach for the rest of the day. There had to be some way to close off the frequency she used or automatically override her voice print or -- he'd figure it out.

"I'm not a talking machine," he said. "I'm a mix of flesh and technology. I have feelings like anybody else."

Because she so clearly cared about that, right?

Well, she hadn't gone out of her way to specifically hurt his feelings. It was about the best you could hope for with her, really.

"'Course you do," she replied, absently, already moving on to more interesting things. "Think I'm gonna call you... Firewall."

Because he desperately needed one against her.

Victor wasn't really a huge fan of code names. But Firewall was better than a)Victorious; b)Fish Boy; or c)any of the random things his teammates would come up with.

So: "I'll take it," he said, "assuming Victor isn't an option."

"It's not," Electroclash told him. Because capenames were important, and also one of her many ways to make this teaching gig bareable for herself. "Welcome to the workshop."
