Library, Sunday 05/06

After making sure everything in the library was in its rightful place, Raven settled behind the desk to go over what she was planning to take with her when she joined Karla in Kaeleer. She thought she could feel a certain malevolence coming from the section containing books on flowers for some reason, but dismissed it as her imagination when no roses or gerbera attacked.

Raven blushed and brought her fingers up to her forehead, not quite touching the jewel. "Thank you," she said. "It is my chakra. It helps me to meditate and to focus my powers."

"Oooh, powers," Thelma said. "This is getting better and better." She leaned against the desk a bit. "But perhaps I shouldn't get too nosy for our first meeting. But maybe you can help me find those books now. That would be nice."

Oh, right! "You were not speaking of cookbooks when you said spicy, were you?" Raven clarified. She had an inkling of what Thelma might be looking for.

"Not unless the chefs are having an affair," Thelma said. "Though I have a feeling there aren't many of those."

"You would be surprised what you would find in the library," Raven said. There was probably an entire section devoted to Rule 34, actually.

"We have an extensive fiction collection," she went on. "And many romance novels among them." She may have read one or two.

"Perfect!" Thelma said. "And I was serious about keeping the blokes at a minimum. They can be nice to talk with, sometimes, but I like them outside of my romance, thank you very much."

"I understand," Raven said. "There should be numerous books you would find acceptable." Her cheeks turned more pink. "If you prefer stories that are more...explicit, however, there is a store in town, Dite's Decadent Delights, that you may find worth investigating."

"School library doesn't believe in the good stuff?" Thelma said, too amused. "Well, that's good to know. And look at you, knowing exactly where I can go in town for it. Very good."

Aaaaand even pinker went the cheeks. "I used to work there," she said. "The shop is owned by Lady Aphrodite, who is a true Goddess of Love, and thus should be able to see you. And Karla should as well, as she is a witch, though she will be gone most of the summer. I do not think Kenzi will be able to, however."

"And I take it when you say true goddess of love, you're not talking about... right," Thelma grinned. "Well that's certainly a place I'll have to investigate. Though a pity you no longer work there, you could have shown me around."

This conversation really wasn't going to make Raven stop blushing any time soon, was it? "I fear I was not very knowledgeable about much of the merchandise," she said.

"They didn't make you try it all out so you could sell it better?" Thelma teased, a playing-at-innocent grin on her face.

"Lady Aphrodite gave permission to do such things, but I never really did so," Raven said, finding the top of her desk absolutely fascinating now.

"Right, pushing possibly a little too hard for a first meeting," Thelma said. "How about we go find those books, eh?"

"Of course," Raven said, lifting her head with a smile and glad for a change of subject. Well, slight change. "Please follow me."
