Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Some extra tables had been set up in the shade of the trees on the lawn, away from the buffet in spots where it might be less crowded and much quieter. Well, aside from the mariachi band, but at least their music was entertaining? They might even take requests!

LOKI, YOU ARE SUCH A CHILD.

"Oh yes," Luke said with a serious nod. "I don't understand why anyone would say anything to the contrary."

And this is why Luke was his favorite god on the island. Never mind that there were only three of them aside from Loki.

"I will be certain to have mine brother speak with you about my behaving here should he visit." Because that would totally convince him. Yup.

"I'll totally have your back, man." Because Luke wouldn't be intimidated by Thor at all, really. "Even if you do want to see someone here cry."

"Ah, but I am not actively causing it!" That was a step up. Which was sad.

"I guess that's good." No, it was still mean. "If you do see someone crying are you gonna point and laugh or are you gonna be more subtle about it?"

"I believe I will film it for my Tumblr. That Perry girl's protest managed to be reblogged well over a hundred times!"

Seriously, this was what he did.

Luke lifted an eyebrow. "Just how much time do you spend on the internet?"

"My phone has access to it wherever I go!" So, all the time. Like a junkie.

"My dad would be so proud," Luke said with a smirk. "Most gods don't like the fact he invented the internet. Probably hate all the fanfiction involving them."

Well, there was that. "I have informed those who write about mine brother fornicating with his teammates that they are sorely mistaken. He fornicates with the Lady Sif. Who is very lovely."

Whose body he'd once stolen. Which wasn't awkward at all.

"I was told photographs or that it had never occurred."

"Well I don't think most people are into photographs being taken when they're...fornicating," Luke said, making a face. "I don't like that word."

"It's a good word," Loki insisted.

"I'm pretty sure if I brought up fornicating with someone they would be weirded out and say no," Luke said. "Or laugh so much that I wouldn't want to sleep with them."

"Sleeping implies something far different!"

If you want to be literal.

"But fornicating sounds so clinical." Why were they discussing this? "People are gonna think you're just doing it for research purposes."

Loki paused there. "Yes?"

Ah, disinterested little ones.

"That's just--" Luke had to stop himself when he realized that Loki was tiny and picturing that was weird (despite the fact Percy was his age when they started dating). "Forgive me, I'm Greek. We're romantics."

That was one way of putting it.

All those demi-gods running around. And turning into animals...

"A most apt way of putting it."

"Thanks," he said. "I know a lot of Zeus's exploits don't count as romantic but...he's special."

"At least he is not here?" Hitting on their classmates.

"If Zeus were here he'd probably strike me down before I even got a chance to apologize for what I did to him," Luke said, shaking his head. "And I'll count on you to pull off some sort of revenge should that happen."

Loki made a face. "I would not allow him to," he insisted. "I would--call Thor."

Because that would be his best option of surviving, you see.

Yeah Luke thought that option would be safer for Loki as well. "That would be interesting if it doesn't cause an all out Greek versus Asgard war."

Well that kind of war would also be interesting but Luke was good now and had to at least pretend it wouldn't be cool to see.

"I suppose recruiting demons to our cause would not endear anyone then..."
