Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Some extra tables had been set up in the shade of the trees on the lawn, away from the buffet in spots where it might be less crowded and much quieter. Well, aside from the mariachi band, but at least their music was entertaining? They might even take requests!

Sia had either shown up on some sort of holiday or day of cultural significance, or this entire place was mad. She wasn't sure which, yet.

She looked calm, though, and was trying to get a feel for her surroundings. And possibly trying to see just how many other Force sensitives there were here.

And there was a pink pony trotting up. "Hi! You're new, aren't you? I can tell, I recognize everypony on the island!"

Of course.

And she'd said everypony.

For as weird as she found this, Sia had manners and had been raised among all different species, which meant that the staring was minimal. "I am," she said. "I take it to mean that you have been here a while."

"Almost a whole year now! I'm Pinkie Pie. I teach about friendship during the year, but since it's summer, I'm going to teach about history!"

"A natural progression." No, she didn't think it was. "So you're a... professor here."

She was trying here. Talking with a pink pony whose class she could very well end up in could be an exercise in diplomacy.

"That's me, Professor Pinkie Pie at your service!" She stuck out her hoof for a shake. "Nice to meetcha!"

"Marasiah Fel," she said, doing her absolute best to shake Pinkie's hoof and promising that yes, her father would hear of this. "I don't believe I'm in your class this term."

"Aw, that's too bad! Well, maybe next time! There are two sessions over the summer, isn't that great?"

"That is," Sia said, even if she wasn't sure what she thought of that so far at all. "Perhaps another time."

Force help her if she ever ended up in a friendship class.

It was okay, it frequently didn't have anything obviously to do with friendship, anyway.

"Totally! And let me know if you need anything at all! I love to help out!"

"You might want to try smiling," Atton called. "You're still doing the thief thing."

Not that he'd been smiling at all himself.

"If you're advocating smiles so much, why don't you try one?" Sia countered.

"Because I don't need a smile to look personable," Atton bullshitted. "You, on the other hand..."

Were giving his instincts a distinct vibe of Jedi. Humorless to a fault.

Oh, the Imperial Knights were way worse there. All honor and duty and not smiling.

"...have some boy I only just met making excuses for why he's not smiling and appointing himself my advisor on personal interactions," she said.

Admittedly, it wasn't like the Sith were much better.

"You looked like you needed it, Princess," he said. "You ever get tired of scowling and spying and throwing hissy fits at well-meaning guys?"

Now she was really eyeing him, wondering if he did actually know who she was.

"If that's what you call well-meaning, you may want to work on your delivery," she told him. "I'll also have you know I've never thrown a fit, hissy or otherwise, in my life."

"No, I bet you just stare people into submission to get what you want," he said. "Charming."

"You're very quick to judge, aren't you?" she asked.

That, and he enjoyed complaining.

"I was just trying to have a conversation," Atton said.

"By judging," she nodded. "I've never stared anyone into submission, either."

Because everyone she usually dealt with knew who she was and that, along with bitching when she needed to, tended to get things done.

"Oh, really?" Atton asked. "Then what do you do?"

"I talk to them and they come to see my point of view," she said.

Seriously, this girl had to either be a Jedi or run with Jedi to have an attitude like that.

"Funny, I haven't heard you try that yet. Actually, I don't even know your full name," Atton said. "Or what part of the galaxy you're from."

"Perhaps that's information I'm not comfortable telling anyone as of yet," she pointed out. "And of course you haven't seen me try it. You barely know me."

"Ohhh, so you leave the staring for people you don't know yet," Atton drawled. "Okay, I'm starting to get a picture of how this works."
