Were you all enjoying your graduation, children? Ingvar certainly hoped you were. It was so much fun, after all! Though... it could be a little more fun, couldn't it? It felt as if something was missing somehow. Something to really make it... fun.

Ingvar knew what it was.

And so, while the graduates were still on and around the stage, the earth began to rumble. Large black clouds of smoke pushed out of Ingvar's volcano and into the air, obscuring the sky and the moon. Soon, the air was covered in a thick black blanket of darkness.

The tune of the rumbling shifted.

Around the stage, clear protective walls sprung up. This was not Fandom's first tango on graduation day, thank you. She knew how to take care of what was hers.

Unfortunately, Ingvar knew its mother well. Moments later, it began to rain: a thick downpour of familiar plastic poppets in varying levels of creepiness, but also nice, brown, fluffy ...red-eyed, sharp-clawed teddy bears. And leading the charge, teeth-first--

"DROP BEARS!"

Please. Her job was carrying people who were flailing. She totally gave him another spin, very tempted to go higher and let him go so he'd have to spread those wings and soar like he should.

Buuut, she was being good (and his dad was in the audience... no giving his dad a heartattack!) so she returned him to the ground safe and sound.

"Happy happy happy birthday!" Someone was a bit hyper, yes. "Here!" She pulled a small present from her pocket. "You are TOTALLY hard to buy for, so you only get one present! I hope you like them?"

Warren took a moment to straighten his jacket before shooting Momoko another grin and accepting the gift with a thank you. He opened the little box, and then blinked for a moment while he registered what he was looking at.

"Oh, wow." And how a pair of cuff links could make Warren Worthington go breathless was anybody's best guess, but there had been so much thought behind them... "These are beautiful. Thank you."

He wasn't even going to wait. He was putting them on right then and there.

She bounced HARD, she was that nervous. "I know you're going to go places where you can't always show your wings? So I wanted to make sure you had a pair that you can."

Oh, Momoko. Make Warren's eyes mist up a little more, would you? People seemed hell-bent on giving him gifts today that could do that, and the cuff links, coupled with that explanation...

She wasn't opposed to another hug, was she? Initiated by Warren, this time, with arms and wings both? Because words were kind of catching in his throat, and that seemed like the best way to say all the same things anyhow.

Oh, GOOD! He liked them!

Momoko had no issues with the arms or the wings; hugs were always the best returns!

"Don't cry on your birthday!!" Yes, she'd noticed. "They're totally nothing like the real thing, but you're not you without wings."

Curse your powers of observation, Momoko!

Still, Warren couldn't help but sniffle, just the once, before giving her one more tight squeeze and then easing off a little.

"I'm not crying," he insisted. "I'm just... there's some... drop bear drool in my eye."

Or something. Shush.

Totally lying, but... "Eeew! Warren!" She pushed lightly against his chest at that, chuckling. "That's totally gross! Good job, by the way! I am totally jealous of you and those sticks!"

"Yeah?" Warren perked up a little at that, at least, with a little sway at the shove. "Lucivar has been training me with them, actually. I'm sure he'd give you lessons too, if you were interested."

Lucivar was ~~sadistic~~ awesome like that.

"Of course! You totally could have done a few flying maneuvers, but I am a bit biased." She totally was.

"Lucivar... He's the one with the wings, from Karla's picnic, right? Who was eating all the honey-pears? Do you really think he would?"

"Well, I'm learning the flying manoeuvres from Andulvar, and I don't get to see him quite so often," Warren reasoned, smirking a little. "But yeah, Lucivar is the one with the wings. He's here this weekend, actually. We were out this morning training with sticks at the crack of dawn. He's really strict with his training, and he won't hesitate to leave a bruise to prove a point, but... that's kind of the sort of training that I need."

He was kind of on a countdown, was the thing.

"And you're a friend of mine, and more importantly, a friend of Karla. All you'd have to do is show up, and he'd probably have you involved in drills in no time."

Annnnd now she was gaping at him. "Seriously? You're taking flying lessons? Now I am totally jealous! I have got to visit Karla more often! Wait... your flying master is in her world, too, right?"

His name totally sounded like it.

"Do you think Mister Lucivar maybe has slots open, say, in the afternoons? I totally don't know why all training has to happen so early."

"Andulvar? Yeah, he's an Eyrien like Lucivar." And something of a legend among Eyriens, for that matter. "And, as for Lucivar teaching in the afternoon..."

He stifled a chuckle at the thought.

"It'll be when he decides to teach you, or..." A pause. "Actually, there won't be any 'not at all.' If you want Lucivar to show you how to fight, you'll be doing it on his terms, period. Which means early mornings or else he'll come get you himself and then throw you into a lake."

Momoko rolled her eyes, chuckling. "Azula did that to me once! I totally learned to show up on time. I just don't like it."

"Yeah, neither do I," Warren admitted. "But if Lucivar is going out of his way to make sure I know how to keep myself and Karla safe, I figure the least I can do is adjust my sleeping habits to account for that, you know?"

"Agreed. But we can totally still whine about it!" Momoko's smile got a bit softer at the reminder of what he was training for.

"If you get time, while I'm here, you totally have to show me some of your flying moves, too. Okay? I don't get to do much flying, so I'm probably rusty, but think you can show me a thing or two?"

Warren considered that request for... oh... all of two seconds.

"Are you busy right now?"

He had dinner plans that he was dreading that evening. And then after that, he imagined that he was going to want to take off with the boyos and get very, very drunk. But right now? He appeared to be free, right now.

"Of course!" She gave a very excited wink and smile as she lifted into the air again. "Once around the island for stretching before we get into the real stuff?"

"Once around the island," Warren agreed, "and then I'll race you around it on the second lap. How does that sound?"

He spread his wings again, and then leapt upward with a flap and a grin.

"That," Momoko replied with a huge grin as she lifted after him, spinning for a bit of added flair, "sounds totally awesome."
