Were you all enjoying your graduation, children? Ingvar certainly hoped you were. It was so much fun, after all! Though... it could be a little more fun, couldn't it? It felt as if something was missing somehow. Something to really make it... fun.

Ingvar knew what it was.

And so, while the graduates were still on and around the stage, the earth began to rumble. Large black clouds of smoke pushed out of Ingvar's volcano and into the air, obscuring the sky and the moon. Soon, the air was covered in a thick black blanket of darkness.

The tune of the rumbling shifted.

Around the stage, clear protective walls sprung up. This was not Fandom's first tango on graduation day, thank you. She knew how to take care of what was hers.

Unfortunately, Ingvar knew its mother well. Moments later, it began to rain: a thick downpour of familiar plastic poppets in varying levels of creepiness, but also nice, brown, fluffy ...red-eyed, sharp-clawed teddy bears. And leading the charge, teeth-first--

"DROP BEARS!"

It's shake, rattle, and rolling out here! React to being walled away from the graduates! Feaaar the drop bears!

As creepy dolls, evil teddy bears, and freaking drop bears rained down onto the graduates, Zoe sighed and ran up to the closest wall, banging on it to try to get people's attention. "Weapons in the trunk behind the podium! Use whatever you can! Be careful!" she yelled.

Then she turned around, pulled out a flask (hey, the school had their preparations, and she had hers), and took a quick drink before going back to watching the battle. The graduates were as prepared as they could be, but that didn't mean she and the others couldn't stay as close as possible.

The trunk of weapons contained everything from blunt and sharp objects to energy guns, to ropes and swords and whatever the heck else people tended to stash in the weapons locker and the salle. If you wanted to arm yourself, this would be the time to do it.

There was never any shame in finding a safe spot when things like this happened. For anyone who wished to hang back, there was a nice bit of space behind one of the banners at the back of the stage where no creepy toy rain was falling - a safe, dry spot to wait out the plastic and fuzzy storm.

When it became clear that the thick black clouds were not going to subside, it was time to let the graduates rest. They'd fought well, but this was clearly something a mother would have to deal with herself.

One last rumble shook the ground, starting beneath the lawn and building across the island and into the water until it ended at Ingvar with a sharp crack. As quickly as the blanket of darkness had formed, it disappated into the air, ending the rain of toys and clearing up the sky. The walls around the graduates dropped, and everything went back to how it had been when the ceremony ended.

Well, except for the bits of dolls and bears scattered around, but that was for the clean-up crew to handle.

Across the way, the volcano settled, but the lava on the island simmered and bubbled petulantly. Ingvar had only been trying to help! Wasn't Hot Topic still cool?

Yay I am not sad!

At the first sign of trouble, Bruce unzipped his gown and reached into his utility belt for some throwing stars and a pair of brass knuckles. The stars were in the air and Bruce was already rushing in for a follow-up attack before the knuckles were even on his hand.

Um... Right. Of course. If Jake was going to be fighting weird furry things and creepy dolls, he was going to take off the stupid gown first.

And okay, while he didn't technically need a weapon, he didn't think changing into a wolf on stage was the best course of action considering all the guests. So he grabbed a baseball bat from the trunk and went to work. It was especially fun to punch them right into the wall.

Yes, Cara was totally planning on hiding. If by hiding you meant tossing her gown to one side and charging forward, agiels in hand.

Cara would like to fight a drop bear pls, b/c srsly.

Warren was deciding then and there that he was not going to miss Ingvar, for as much as he was going to miss Fandom. That was probably the most eerie volcanic eruption of all time.

Of. All. Time.

In any case, he was shucking the gown and pulling out the sticks that Lucivar had been training him with just that morning, spreading his wings and daring any evil toys to take him on.

Bring it, Ingvar.

Kahlan and Richard were not expecting, well, that. While they were aware that Cara was perfectly competent (and probably enjoying herself more than she'd been all ceremony) in a fight, they didn't enjoy not being able to help.

So, yes, Ingvar, you were getting glared at. In stereo.

ON THE WAY!

What was that in the sky? Whatever could it be?

Dropbears.

God help you all, graduates of Fandom. God help you.

Why wouldn't you hide from a terrifying, man-eating, Australian bear that falls from the sky? C'mon!

They're terrifying! Like the one headed right for Cara's head.

After punching a teddy bear to the side with the brass knuckles, Bruce turned quickly and threw a boomerang at a dropping bear's head before diving out of the way and grabbing a couple more shuriken.

Pfft, like Cara was scared of cuddly bears wit fangs.

She was much more alert to threats from above after that one time. So there now happened to be a pair of agiels directly in the path of the bear.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO IIIIIIIIIT, BRUCE?

Another bear adjusted it's fuzzy, little descent to gnaw on Bruce's head. Because, really. That was what you did.

Now this was more like the planets Vestara had been to lately.

Once she realized she wasn't in any immediate danger, she relaxed a bit. She wasn't inclined to help one bit and didn't much care how this went for anyone aside from Ben.

Who she'd be watching to see how he did.

Miley shrieked, and immediately hiked up her graduation gown and launched a completely off-target kick at a creepy doll that had been about to descend not far from her.

She missed the doll by about a foot.

"No one saw that!" she yelled, and decided to just run and duck for cover instead.

And finally things were quiet and Miley poked her head out of her hiding place. "Is that it?" she called. "Are we done?"

Because look, she'd gotten hit in the shin by a freaking bear. She was not taking any chances.
