Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 2)

Were you all enjoying your graduation, children? Ingvar certainly hoped you were. It was so much fun, after all! Though... it could be a little more fun, couldn't it? It felt as if something was missing somehow. Something to really make it... fun.

Ingvar knew what it was.

And so, while the graduates were still on and around the stage, the earth began to rumble. Large black clouds of smoke pushed out of Ingvar's volcano and into the air, obscuring the sky and the moon. Soon, the air was covered in a thick black blanket of darkness.

The tune of the rumbling shifted.

Around the stage, clear protective walls sprung up. This was not Fandom's first tango on graduation day, thank you. She knew how to take care of what was hers.

Unfortunately, Ingvar knew its mother well. Moments later, it began to rain: a thick downpour of familiar plastic poppets in varying levels of creepiness, but also nice, brown, fluffy ...red-eyed, sharp-clawed teddy bears. And leading the charge, teeth-first--

"DROP BEARS!"

"I did not take the bears within myself!" Raven protested. "And they were not evil, just hungry. Do you think Prince Lucivar saw? Perhaps he will now realize there is no need for sticks."

Karla was just going to laugh at her. "You're adorable when you're naive," she said, shaking her head. "Lucivar won't stop pestering you until you comply. And he's had seventeen hundred years to perfect his stubbornness."

"He can pester all he wishes," Raven said firmly. "I will not relent." She could out-stubborn him. Sticks could HURT someone, Lucivar!

That was their POINT, Raven!

"I'm looking forward to the two of you arguing about that for a long time," Karla said, leaning against her shoulder. "So...feel good and graduated now?"

Raven slipped her arm around Karla. "I suppose so," she said. "I do not feel very much different. Perhaps a little older."

Karla leaned back and eyed Raven critically. "The wrinkles are setting in," she said. "But you don't look a day over thirty, I promise."

"I do not have wrinkles!" Raven said indignantly.

She was going to live until the 30th century, thank you very much!

"Are you suuuuuure?" Karla asked, leaning in to boop Raven on the nose.

"I am quite certain," Raven insisted. She'd totally heal away any wrinkles, thank you.

"Besides," she added teasingly, "it is you who is turning a year older today."

"Truuuuue," Karla said, grinning and winking at her friend. "Though I'm not celebrating my birthday today. Because I'm mad at today. Today sucks. It's the worst. Maybe tomorrow will be my birthday instead."

"Shall we plan on some sort of celebration, then?" Raven said. "Is there anyone here aside from Prince Lucivar from your home?" It was hard to miss him, after all.

Almost seven feet tall with a wingspan to match and an attitude that towered above everything else? Hard to miss indeed.

"Khary and Aaron are with him," she said with a sigh. "They tried to protect me when Ingvar was all...Ingvar-y."

"Did you expect anything less?" Raven said, teasing just a little because she knew how males on Karla's world were.

"No," Karla sighed. "But it worries me for next year."

She could only imagine the havoc and chaos they might cause when it was her up on that stage.

"They will insist on escorting you across the stage," Raven said, trying not to laugh. "They will want to be close by in case of the inevitable attack."
