Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2012, Early Saturday Evening (Part 2)

Were you all enjoying your graduation, children? Ingvar certainly hoped you were. It was so much fun, after all! Though... it could be a little more fun, couldn't it? It felt as if something was missing somehow. Something to really make it... fun.

Ingvar knew what it was.

And so, while the graduates were still on and around the stage, the earth began to rumble. Large black clouds of smoke pushed out of Ingvar's volcano and into the air, obscuring the sky and the moon. Soon, the air was covered in a thick black blanket of darkness.

The tune of the rumbling shifted.

Around the stage, clear protective walls sprung up. This was not Fandom's first tango on graduation day, thank you. She knew how to take care of what was hers.

Unfortunately, Ingvar knew its mother well. Moments later, it began to rain: a thick downpour of familiar plastic poppets in varying levels of creepiness, but also nice, brown, fluffy ...red-eyed, sharp-clawed teddy bears. And leading the charge, teeth-first--

"DROP BEARS!"

Raven wasn't going to run and hide in case she was needed; but she wasn't going to fight, either. She'd seen past graduations and had been hoping this one wouldn't be marred by violence. Sadly, but not unexpectedly, this wasn't the case.

She moved out of the main fray, sickened but keeping an eye out for anyone who might have need of her gifts. Any doll or demonic teddy bear that came near her would be sent straight to hell, but since the drop bears were living creatures and not just animated (at least she thought so), she'd pacify them.

Aw, but Raven, the drop bears only wanted to chomp on you. Didn't they have rights as well?

She could certainly try to pacify the two bears coming toward her, but she'd have to avoid their teeth first.

Their rights ended where her flesh began! Or...something like that.

She caught sight of the bears drawing near and really hoped Lucivar was watching to see that she didn't need sticks to protect herself. "There is no need for bloodshed," she said, stretching out a hand while sending them a wave of peace and contentment. "Why do you not sit down and rest?"

Ooh, that was a weird and tingly feeling, all right. The drop bears stopped in their tracks, and one of them even sat down, but they still chomped their teeth at her in hunger.

"There, there," Raven said soothingly. "I do not wish you to be harmed, which you certainly will be if you attack my friends. If you are hungry, perhaps I can find something else for you to eat."

She wondered how they felt about apples. But in the meantime, she was drawing their hunger into herself, struggling for a minute when she now wanted to chomp on something.

Meat was way better than apples, but the drop bears weren't hungry for much of anything anymore. Now they were both plopped down on the ground and making low, confused growling noises. The other drop bears were totally going to laugh at them later, if they didn't get stabbed or anything.

Raven sank down to her knees beside the drop bears. They were so adorable when they weren't trying to bite! She very carefully reached out to rub their bellies. "You are so cute," she crooned.

The other drop bears were definitely going to laugh.

Was that...oh goodness yes, they were giggling at having their bellies rubbed, and there might have even been a purring noise too as they leaned in for more petting. They were never, ever going to live this down.
