When the students entered the Danger Shop today they would probably notice that the environment had been transformed into an insane looking obstacle course.

And furthermore they might be confused as to why Jamie is welcoming everyone in class in Japanese. And rather bad Japanese as well since Jamie just told everyone "Hello! Welcome to my pants! Yesterday we will be eating your skills by kissing a water buffalo."

Jeff, who could speak two languages: English, and snippets-of-Welsh, had absolutely no idea what Jamie was saying. He stole a look at Jamie and wondered privately if he'd broken his inner translator again, an idea that left him with great and barely-restrained panic. "We're going to be running a course!" he called, sounding oddly panicked.

Jamie nodded in agreement and then gestured for everyone to don their protective gear and welcomed them all to try and attempt the course with a partner if they so chose while massacring the Japanese language. For anyone who did speak the language they might wonder why Jamie was telling them to wear kumquats and suture themselves to the arms of their fellow students.

"Um," Jeff said, sounding more choked up and panicked by the minute. "Er. Er. You should team up and go on the course! That's what he's saying. Is he actually saying that? Am I just not hearing it properly?!"

Jamie nodded in agreement while telling Jeff and the entire class that monkeys were currently en route to eat their brains in Japanese. Or he was telling everyone to begin since he was blowing a whistle and pointing at the obstacle course.

If your character knows Japanese... well maybe it's best not to correct Jamie. For your own character's sanity.

Honestly, all Sam was hearing from Jamie was "I have a bladder infection."

Her one trip to Japan had been rather interesting, yes.

Jeremy was just sort of squinting at the Japanese.

No, he didn't understand it. He just would have liked to.

Hanna wasn't actually paying attention to what Jamie was saying. All she could think about was that horrifying mud obstacle course.

Juliet got "pants." Also "welcome."

She spoke shopping in many languages.

The rest of it was sheer gibberish, but she had no intention to going through the obstacle course.

And yes there is protective gear for all.

Raven stared at the course. And the ridiculous gear. And the course again.

And teleported to the other side. What? It totally wasn't cheating.

Who will no doubt be all about playing in the mud. And the water. And taking punches to the face.

How about throwing punches and pushing other people into the mud and water? Because Sam was all over that sort of behavior.

"I'll give you ten dollars to not dunk me," Miley said quickly, holding up both hands.

Very strategic, Miles.

Oh great, now Sam knew she had money on her.

"Fifty," she said.

"Twenty?" Miley tried hopefully. While taking a few steps backward, just in case.

Well, twenty was usually enough to buy Sam a whole meal, which was always a good thing.

"Forty," she offered.

Miley thought about it. Then thought about the prospect of being dunked in the mud.

"Deal," she decided, forking it over.

Sam counted the money. "Pleasure doing business, Stewart."

"Same to you," Miley said primly.

"...and don't dunk Dave ~~if he's here~~ either," she added as an afterthought. Because sometimes she was a good person.

Sam considered this, then held out her hand. "That'll cost you an extra twenty."

"You can't just do it out of the goodness of your heart?" she suggested.

"I just bargained you up to forty bucks from ten not to push you in the mud," Sam pointed out. "What about that makes you think my heart is good?"

Okay, scratch that. Hmm...

"I'll make you mac and cheese and bacon?"

. . . Oooo.

"A full casserole dish of it? Extra bacon? That I don't have to share?"

"If you can get to the common room before anyone else dives for it!" Miley promised.

"I'll bring my comically large fork," Sam said.

Be afraid, anyone trying to get said mac and cheese and bacon. Be very afraid.

"Oh, mudcrunkies," Miley muttered.

Miley really could have lived without the mud.

Who are there for... What exactly are they doing here? Why is anyone here? Is this some kind of cosmic joke? Or is this a moment of destiny that needs to be filled? How can obstacle course make a difference in the lives of everyone? Will it help? Will it hinder?

None of those are probably on Jeff and Jamie's minds. Jamie is more interested in drinking his squishy and trying not to do a spit take when a student falls in mud.

Wipeout. It's good family programming, I tell ya.
