"Hello.

I hope you all enjoyed speaking with Racso on Thursday. You showed a nice grasp of conversational Rat.

For class today, I would like for you to pair up with someone you have not worked with in this class before and attempt to carry on a conversation in Rat about the events of this past weekend.

I am told there was singing. You do not need to sing in Rat.

Take notes on your conversations, as they will feed into a group project we will begin on Thursday.

I will be holding office hours this afternoon should you have questions.

Xander waves and joins him, but it's a small, grumpy wave. "Could we have had anything but this weekend as a discussion topic? Like, I dunno, fleabites in uncomfortable places? That'd be an improvement. I bet rats talk about that a lot."

Blair grinned and bounced. "I gather you didn't enjoy the singing this weekend? We can talk about the not singing part, although I didn't mind so much. I apparently learned to tap dance."

There wasn't actually much of the not-singing part that Xander was cleared to talk about, he was pretty sure. Still, there was always the not-Xander part.

"Tap-dance? Really?"

Oh yeah, they were supposed to be speaking Rat.

And... rats had a word for tap-dance. Why did this surprise him less than it should? Possibly his threshhold for brain-breaky really had been completely broken this weekend.

"Hey," she says. "Wanna practice some rat?" She raises an eyebrow. God, that sounded wierd.

He shuffled his papers and looked at his vocabulary sheet.
