Parker opened the library, and started making plans. She may have been drinking a lot of coffee.

"I believe it was the one on Friday," Fraser says, thinking back. "Yes, because Mr. Harris found me in the lobby of the dorms and told me Mr. Echolls was having a party on the second floor but it was too noisy for his tastes. He ended up wearing my hat and telling me my hair wasn't poofy. He's got an unusual fellow."

"Oh! I was there for a little while," Angela says evasively. "It was huge."

"So you let Xander wear your hat? That's so cool. Can I see it?"

Fraser takes his hat off his head and hands it to her.

"Did you enjoy yourself at the party?"

Angela inspects the hat, restrained by Fraser's tone from plopping it on her own head.

"It was okay," she says vaguely. "I talked to Vala Mal Doran and Alex Krycek. Then Jaye Tyler said she needed Logan Echolls for something, and I went to look for him, but I kind of got distracted."

"You can try it on, Miss Chase," Fraser says with a smile. "I let Mr. Harris wear it for quite awhile."

"The radio reported something about hunting vampires. This party wasn't somehow connected was it?" Fraser asks calmly.

Angela freezes, and drops the hat, forgotten, on the counter.

"What have you heard?"

"Nothing, Miss Chase," Fraser says. "Punishment isn't my job. I'm concerned about safety. If everyone is all right, that's all I need to know."

A guilty look crosses Angela's face as she pushes her hair back behind one ear. "Everyone is fine," she says. "And most of the people at the party had no idea anything was going on. In case you did, y'know. Want to punish people."

Fraser smiles again. "No, I won't be punishing people. From what I've heard, it was quite an admirable effort. I'm glad everyone is all right. That's the important thing. Just one question though..."

Angela smiles a little herself, relieved by Fraser's smile. "What is it?"

"If I assume correctly, Mr. Harris had something to do with the events that occurred on Friday," Fraser says. "Does that mean he's not really interested in learning more about Mounties?"

"I think Xander probably has a very sincere interest in men in uniform," Angela says, with an utterly straight face. "But I really can't speak for him."

"He was very interested in my hat and uniform," Fraser says, nodding solemnly. "He seemed sincere enough during our conversation. Though he did talk to a cat and, if I heard correctly, told the cat he was the reason that Mr. Harris didn't have a girlfriend."

Angela grins. "That was Faithful, Alanna Trebond's cat. He, um -" Angela realizes that if Fraser hadn't heard Faithful talk, Faithful probably had a reason for it. "He's a good listener?" she finishes.

Fraser grins and offers his hat to Angela again.

"I didn't mean to come on so strong," he says.

"I wouldn't mind if you did," Angela says, then blushes. "I mean, it's nice that you're all worried about us. Our last security guard wasn't so much for the talking."

She puts on the hat. "How does it look?"

"Thank you kindly for the compliment," Fraser says, smiling. He steps back and looks at her with his hat on her head. "It looks good. It's a good color for you."

"Thanks," Angela says, feeling very warm as she pats the hat.

She hands the hat back to him. "Is there anything else I could help you with?"

"You've been very helpful already," Fraser says, taking the hat back. "I should be going. Thank you for your honesty."
