Janet opened up the library and sat quietly behind the Collections Desk, ~~staring at~~ studying her Western Civ notes.

My, doesn't Janet look ~~undercaffeinated~~ studious and absorbed? But she's there if you need help.

Janet's slightly more awake. But still slow to respond.

Alas, Janet has had to leave for the wonders of journalism and the integrity involved therein. Perhaps another library aide can help you?

Janet's back, and Western Civ notes have been replaced by Paleontology books.

In case any library aides or friends feel like hiding out.

Janet's reviewing more Paleontology material. But she'd be more than glad to help someone if they needed it.

It's almost the end of the day. Janet's abandoned all pretense of working and is playing around on the internet.

Janet has left for her TA meeting with Dr. Pierson. She's too excited by tonight's party to really be able to focus on the library anyway.

Angela comes in after her math class.

"I am never taking a first period class again," she says as she dumps her backpack behind the counter.

Angela's still around. She's loaded her new CDs onto her iPod, and she's listening to the Cake CD.

There might be bouncing.

"They're evil," said Janet. "I thought ACJ would be worth it since it's only twice a week, but it's still horrible."

"I might make an exception to take a class with Professor Tick," Angela admits grudgingly. "I couldn't get in this term."

"But math? No way am I ever taking math in the morning again. Too bad I needed it for college."

"Keep trying," said Janet. "It's worth it, even though I complain about the hours. The best studying you can do is watch old Bugs Bunny cartoons."

"Is it too early to deal with numbers?" asked Janet. "Or just to early to deal with anything?"

"Anything," Angela says emphatically. "Especially numbers."

Her eyes take in Janet, evaluating how the other girl is holding herself. "I didn't say this yesterday, but you look like you're feeling better, a little."

"You're more into English and creative writing, aren't you?" asked Janet. "I remember you had that with Professor Chaucer last semester. Let me know if you ever need help with math. I'm pretty good at it."

She smiled wryly. "When I'm not busy running into book carts, at least." Janet rubbed gingerly at the spot on her side. "I'm not normally such a klutz."

Angela raises one eyebrow. She hadn't heard the "book carts" explanation before.

"Maybe we'll get rid of those book carts soon. They're really a problem, lately."

"What?" asked Janet, looking confused. She really had run into a book cart yesterday and exacerbated the problem. "As far as I was aware, I'm the only one who ran into a book cart with bruised ribs. Otherwise the impact is going to be fairly minimal."

Angela flushes. "Sorry. There's been kind of a lot of talking in code, lately."

"How'd a book cart attack you, then?"

Rory came in with five huge cups of coffee, and a bag slung over one arm.

If one were to look in the bag, they would see an enormous assortment of chocolates.

"Brought you guys coffee."

Janet grinned. "No code this time. I was pushing the cart, and I got distracted and walked into it. Which hurt like hell, might I add."

"Rory, I'm in love with you," said Janet gratefully. "I didn't have a chance to get any this morning before I opened the library."

"Ow!," Angela says sympathetically. "We must have evil book carts, then."

"You are one of my favorite people right now," Angela says. "Possibly my very favorite."

She grabs a coffee and dumps in a bunch of sugar before taking a sip.

"As long as they don't attack the school," said Janet. "That's all I care about right now, I think."

"Yay!" Rory smiled. "I also have chocolate, but it's mostly a peace offering for Parker so she doesn't kill me. Or tell people things, really."

She tilted her head curiously. "Wasn't your thingy with Broots last night?"
