The Library is Open (02/02)

Rory went to the library after ACJ to see it unopened, and raised a brow before hurriedly opening up and taking her place behind the desk.

"No, I need to get out," said Janet. "If I stare at the walls of my room one minute longer, I may go insane. So, ah--" She paused. "Parker told me about a study group."

"Did she tell you the details of the study group? Because we could totally use someone like you involved."

Janet nodded. "I think that study group is a brilliant idea," she said. "And I wouldn't want anyone doing one without me. Just in case we need to study in any of the areas I'm particularly familiar with."

Rory nodded vehemently. "Since I know next to nothing about your field, and we'll need a lot of tutoring with that, you know?"

"Oh, I don't mind tutoring any time," said Janet. "I've been taking inventory of my study supplies and making sure everything's in order for it. Which reminds me, I think I got an e-mail about study software for my cell phone."

She glanced down at her bag, annoyed at herself for putting it on the floor, then bent very slowly over and pulled her backpack into her lap. "If I can find it in here, that is."

"I have some study stuff you'll probably find useful, that I got from that place with the...school supplies, in town?" Rory said carefully.

She shot Janet a quick look. "Are you feeling okay? Still banged up from the, um, thing?"

"You do?" asked Janet. "That was very foresightful of you. Thanks. Believe me, more school supplies never go amiss."

"Bruised ribs," said Janet. "Which take about four to six weeks to heal. I'm hoping for four rather than six." She shrugged.
