Library is Open, Wednesday 2/1

Zero opens the Library and heads back into the stacks, returning a few minutes later with that which she sought: The Amethyst Flower, the sequel to The Jade Flower. Today, there will be silly romance novels, and it will be good.

Zero bursts into laughter at a passage in the book. "Oh...hi, Cam." Then she starts giggling some more.

"Yo," Cameron says, eyeing Zero a bit warily. "I don't have a 'kick me' sign on my back, do I?"

"No. It's this book. It's...classic."

Cameron tilted his head and tried to make out the title. "Never heard of it."

"I'm so relieved to hear that. May I help you with anything?"

"Yeah," Cameron frowns and studies Zero for a moment. "I get the feeling I'm missing out on something. Care to enlighten me?"

Zero shows him the cover of her book. "It's a romance novel, Cam."

"Oh," Cameron straightens up and wrinkles his nose. "I'll pass then."

"Thought you might. It's very funny. Unintentionally, of course."

Cameron raises an eyebrow. "So it's just really bad and you're mocking it?"

"Pretty much, yeah. Why else would I read it?"

Cameron flushes and clears his throat. "I er... I don't know. Why do women read books like that?" He asks as he rubs the back of his neck.

"Because they're sad and lonely?" Zero narrows her eyes. "Do I look sad and lonely?"

Cameron quickly holds up his hands, trying not to grin. "I didn't say a thing."

"Good. Just so we're clear." Zero's facade of anger cracks and she flashes him a grin.

Cameron chuckles. "You know I don't agree with a woman with a mallet," he reminds her.

"Do you maybe want to rephrase that?" she offered.

"What?" Cameron asked confused, then realised what he had said. "Argue! I said argue, I swear!"

"Okay then. Can I help you find anything, or do you know what you're looking for? Or did you just come to hang out?"

"I was actually looking for books on sword fighting techniques," Cameron replies and quickly ass. "For Self-Defense class."

"Huh." Zero mentally pokes at the library, her eyes glazing over.

"Is that a 'go find it yourself' kind of huh?"

Zero blinks and shakes her head. "You might try the fourth row of shelves, toward the back, but it seems like most of them are going to be in Special Collections. They're very...old."

"Right, and I can't get in there without permission." Cameron nods. "Thanks."

"Some of the ones out here are probably useful, though. They're more modern, at least, so they won't be in that archaic language. I don't know, I don't know what's in them." Zero makes a face. "Sorry I can't be more helpful."
