Library, 1/31

Well-armed with coffee and muffins from her trip to the Perk, Angela sets up camp behind the collections desk. Idly, she wonders where the Librarian is.

In between bursts of library work, she's trying to read some Flannery O'Connor short stories. Yet, somehow, she can't keep her mind on the words.

But she is there to help with all your library needs.

Anakin blushed. "No problem. I'd hate for the only gremlin left alive in the dorms to get you. Especially after the week you've had."

He leaned his arms against the desk. "Do you have anything interesting planned for tonight?"

"Shopping trip," Rory said with a significant look.

Anakin nodded. "Got a piece of paper? I have a couple things for you to pick up for me." He blushed. "Um. If you don't mind."

Rory arched a brow, and handed up a sheet of paper and a pen.

"Go for it," she said curiously.

Anakin wrote a quick message.

You're being careful, right? Stakes, crosses? Large group?

He paused, tapping the pen against his lips, then scrawled,

Want me to come?

Rory sighed.

Yes, we're being careful. Big group. Me, Angela, Isabel, John, Xander and Cordelia. And the last two know exactly what we're dealing with.

Stakes and crosses for sure. Promise.

She shook her head, looking up at him.

We'll be fine. You don't have to come. Want me to check in with you after or something?

Anakin read the note and nodded.

Good, he wrote.

He ran a hand through his hair.

I know I'm being kind of insane about this. But if you could call after, yeah. I'll worry.

Rory smiled.

Don't worry. We'll barely even be out after dark, anyway. Definitely will be back by 8, if not way sooner.

Anakin smiled back and scrawled, Glad to hear it. I'll be in my room practing some of the exercises Obi-Wan gave me, so I'm a phone call away if anything goes wrong.

I know. But we'll be fine. And I have my stake and everything, since I'm not making the same mistake twice.

Anakin folded up the paper and stuck it into his pocket with a nod.

"So, um, if you get me some more glitter, that would be great." He winked. "See you around?"
