Library, 1/31

Well-armed with coffee and muffins from her trip to the Perk, Angela sets up camp behind the collections desk. Idly, she wonders where the Librarian is.

In between bursts of library work, she's trying to read some Flannery O'Connor short stories. Yet, somehow, she can't keep her mind on the words.

But she is there to help with all your library needs.

Chapter 13. Turns out the Dread Pirate Frykin, who never takes prisoners, killed the Jade Flower's brother, the Obsidian Blade, a few years back. Is their romance doomed?

Parker comes in after ACJ still a little out of sorts. She grins when she sees the book, though. "Hey. How go things with Jade and her pillaging sweetie?"

"It's terrible," Zero says, barely not giggling. "Apparently the pirate killed her brother and they've just now figured it out. Jade's all, 'Prepare to die.'"

"Noooo!" Parker doesn't draw it out long enough to need to pay royalties to anyone. "Her brother? Vendetta time. But if she gets her revenge, no smoochies. Decisions, decisions."

"Well, her brother was trying to kill him at the time. There's still a lot of book left, so I think they'll make up. There's no rival love interest around for her to end up with, anyway."

"Ah. That's always a dead giveaway." Parker smirked. "Have they gotten into excessive use of metaphor, yet? Crashing waves, burning sun, la la la?"

Parker took it, and started to read aloud. "'As the ship rose and fell in the swell of the waves, so did Jade's passion surge to overcome her, sending her climbing the heights of ninja frenzy.'" Chortling, she added, "'Frykin's.... Oh, god, I can't read that."

She fell off her chair giggling.
