Monster attack

Shots can still be heard down in the town. The troopers seem to be all tied up down there. Which is why it might be disconcerting to anyone watching out the windows to see figures begin rising out of the snow on the lawn of the school. More are moving out of the trees also.

They begin making their way toward the buildings.

[[OOC: If people choose to leave the building to fight, please organize yourselves into groups (preferably in the gym thread) and post your location in the subject line. This will make it a lot easier for me to keep track of everything.]]

Lyta stands, furrowing her brow at the battle cry. As a snowball whizzes past her head with astonishing velocity, she whirls on one of them, eyes narrowed and dark. "You did not just throw that at me --"

She gives one The Stareā„¢, and suddenly feels as though she's eaten ice cream too quickly. Turning slightly, she forces her way past the pain and continues the mental assault.

How did you scramble a snowman, anyway?

"Lyta!" Ivanova snapped as she saw the telepath waver, and stepped up beside her, firing dead ahead. "You alright against these things?"

Firing happily away, Tex looked from the girl to the snowmen and back again. "You just gonna stand there and stare at them?"

"It's worked before . . ." Ivanova muttered, hoping it would work again. She kept firing, trying to keep the snowthings at bay until Lyta figured it out.

Lyta turned to Tex, eyes black, blood out of the corner of her eye. "Perhaps you'd prefer I stare at you?" She clenched her jaw, reaching for her PPG.

She looked to Susan. "I'm fine. Thanks," she responded, then began firing the PPG, while also attempting to maintain the mental barrage.

"Whoa, freaky time." Tex sneered and jumped forward prefering to whack the snowman with the barrel of her gun.

That eye thing couldn't be good for her. To try and ease up on the pressure on Lyta's mind, Ivanova fished out a grenade from her pocket, armed it, and chucked it right into the oncoming snowthings, hard enough to bury it inside what may have been a torso.

"Heads up, Lyta," she warned, throwing off a couple more shots.

Lyta fired at the snow...thing with the grenade in its gullet, aiming for the head, ducking as the grenade exploded. Snow went everywhere.

Ivanova shook her head quickly, snow sliding off in wet clumps. She used her other arm to quickly wipe her eyes, keeping the gun out. "Nice shot," she ground out.

Lyta stood up, using her own free hand to wipe the snow from the hood of her coat. "Thanks. A bit cold, though..." She caught a snowball in the shoulder. "Ow! Frelling...frakking...aw, hell!" Shaking her head and wincing at the likely very-bruised shoulder, she fires with angry precision at the advancing snow...things.

Ivanova would have asked her if she was alright, but by the expression on her face she was just fine. "That's going to be a beauty in the morning," she said. "We should compare." A snowball glanced her knee, making her hop sideways. "Something tells me I'll have some good ones."

She gave a snicker. "I'd put ice on it, but I couldn't be sure if it were friend or foe."

"I'm pretty sure keeping it cold will happen most definitely," she murmured, when she heard Blair yell something. (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/572795.html?thread=27325051#t27325051)
