Monster attack

Shots can still be heard down in the town. The troopers seem to be all tied up down there. Which is why it might be disconcerting to anyone watching out the windows to see figures begin rising out of the snow on the lawn of the school. More are moving out of the trees also.

They begin making their way toward the buildings.

[[OOC: If people choose to leave the building to fight, please organize yourselves into groups (preferably in the gym thread) and post your location in the subject line. This will make it a lot easier for me to keep track of everything.]]

Lee carefully watches the monsters through the sniper gun's scope and waits. "I hate this part."

A very ugly, very angry snow monster spots Lee taking aim. With his tentacles, he hurls four balls of ice towards Lee.

Lee ducks and misses the first one but is hit square in the head and chest by the last three. Woe.

Scrambling to his feet and wincing from the pain, he takes aim and fires at the omg, ugly angry snow monster.

The fire strikes good and the snow monster is blasted into small chunks of snow. If Lee were to remain watching, he would see the snow monster start to reform...

"Frak, don't these things ever die?" Lee says, shocked to see the reforming monster. He takes aim again and fires more shots at it.

Snow monsters stick together. So, when the snow monster aliens see Lee attacking their buddy, they immediately fire a blast of freezing water towards Lee's...hair.

The freezing water hits Lee's face and hair and he falls over backwards, his hair frozen stiff and his face turning slightly bluish from cold. He garbles a cry for help.

Rory rushed over, coffee mug in hand. She pressed her warm, gloved hands to Lee's cheeks, and glanced at her cup.

"Hold still," she said, pouring her slightly-cooled liquid over his face. It was hot enough to warm, but not enough to scald.

Lee has never been so grateful to have a cup of coffee kinda flung in his face. He blinks and gets it in his eyes and perhaps takes back the 'grateful.' Still.

"Rory, thanks, oh gods," he sputters. "That hurt like a bitch."

"Of course it did," Rory nodded. "Do you need to go get help from the medical people?"

The snow army is heedless of this display of camaraderie and they throw a slew of snowballs towards Rory and Lee's position.

"I'm good, thanks," Lee says rolling out of the way of the snowball attack. "I just need my frakkin--" and gets his gun and aims it at the snow army, firing with abandon.

Lee's gunfire strikes some of the army and they explode in a hail of snow. The rest of the group tosses more snowballs up towards Lee and Rory, aiming for hands and noses and ears.

Rory took a snowball to the same shoulder she had been hit on earlier. "Damnn it," she said, rubbing it. She grabbed a mug and threw it at the snowmen.

"Did you just...?" Lee asks, looking down before being hit square in the face by a snowball.

Remember the crazy snow monster that you so violently killed! Well, meet his brother!

Being a mite unpredictable, the snow monster throws three oblong and heavily packed snowballs at Rory's knees.

"Oof!" Rory cried as she was hit with all three and knocked straight back.

She sent her arm back to brace her fall, and twisted slightly, causing her left knee to take the full impact of a snowball. She shrieked in pain, took a deep breath, and sat still for a moment before reaching for her coffee.

"Rory!" Lee yells, half walking half crawling to her side, "You okay?"

Rory nodded, swallowing. "I'll be fine," she winced. "My knee just...ow."

She poured herself more coffee. "Want some?" she offered.

"Is it broken? Can you walk?" Lee says as his priorities are straight damnit. "Do I need to get you to the hospital?"

Mister Two Headed Snow Monster, who is attacking Jaye, starts to wonder if these two are a couple.

Just for that, he hurls two snowballs towards their chests.

Lee is able to aim and fire two shots at the Mister Two Headed Snow Monster before he falls back to the ground, grimacing from the pain of catching a snowball in the chest.

"Not broken," Rory said, experimentally twisting her leg and hissing in pain. "I'm fine. I can stand." She got to her feet, pressing up from the ground for support, and wavered slightly.

And then gets promptly knocked back down again by a snowball. "Ow."

"I should get you to the hospital," Lee says, trying to get to his feet again. He holds out his arm for her.

The snow army, having spotted new targets, cease their firing.

They do, however, think Rory and Lee make a cute couple and wonder if they've ever explored that avenue.
