Gym, afternoon

The reports coming in from her clone troopers were worrying to say the least. Tex scanned around the gym seeing no one in charge and cursed. Who the hell was in charge at this school? Even Church was better at organising things. Changing the channel to communication systems, she finally found the right wavelength and the P.A. crackled to life.

"... stupid useless... Alright, that's better. Okay, listen up you anklebiters. Town's under attack by some sort of... I can't believe I'm fucking saying this... snow monsters. They got tentacles and you can shoot them but they'll kinda just reform a while later. Yeah, this should be fun. I suggest you all get some weapons and defend yourself. And if I see anyone of you adolescent fucktards heading into town to get in my troopers way I'll rip out your skull."

She turned off the communications and looked around her.

"Right, now what kind of firepower do you guys have here? You better not all be like that Canadian dictionary loving pacifist."

Vala stumbled over. "Janet, do you have any--" she dropped her voice "Zats?" She waved her still-casted hand. "I know how to manage them one-handed."

Janet nodded and slipped one to Vala. "Just give it back to me when we're done." Or we'll handwave it.

"Thanks!" Vala said grabbing it and moving over with Cam to what looked to be the staging area.

"Cam, go." She could see he was itching to go out and fight. "They need you and I'll be fine," she pulled him around for a quick kiss. "Just be careful o.k.? I want to see you back here in one piece."

"I'm not leaving you," he insisted, even as he eyed the group arming up to head out for the attack.

"I promise, I won't leave the building, o.k.?" She assured him. Finally, he agreed.

Once he was gone she nodded to herself. She didn't promise to stay in the gym, after all. Trying to trudge through snow would be far too much for her still-wounded side, even with the repairs the healing device had managed. But she figured it couldn't hurt to have people up on the roof...
