Gym, afternoon

The reports coming in from her clone troopers were worrying to say the least. Tex scanned around the gym seeing no one in charge and cursed. Who the hell was in charge at this school? Even Church was better at organising things. Changing the channel to communication systems, she finally found the right wavelength and the P.A. crackled to life.

"... stupid useless... Alright, that's better. Okay, listen up you anklebiters. Town's under attack by some sort of... I can't believe I'm fucking saying this... snow monsters. They got tentacles and you can shoot them but they'll kinda just reform a while later. Yeah, this should be fun. I suggest you all get some weapons and defend yourself. And if I see anyone of you adolescent fucktards heading into town to get in my troopers way I'll rip out your skull."

She turned off the communications and looked around her.

"Right, now what kind of firepower do you guys have here? You better not all be like that Canadian dictionary loving pacifist."

Zoe comes in carrying her Winchester, and a sour look. "I hope this goes without saying, but we have to make sure the guns only go to people who know how to use them. The last thing we need is idiot teenagers shooting themselves in the foot trying to be heroes."

"Do I look like a babysit to you?" Tex asked and waved around the room. "I gave the girl with pigtails a gun, if you don't think she should have it you can go get it back. I'm not going to let anyone stay unarmed."

"I suppose you have a point." Zoe sighed. "Better they be armed than...whatever state these things will put them into." Getting into soldier mode was probably the only thing keeping her from openly wondering about the snow monsters.

"Exactly. Now team up (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/572373.html?thread=27173845#t27173845) and move out."

Pippi, holding Tex's M6D (http://static.flickr.com/42/92279466_4ca3172dd9.jpg?v=0) in her hand and laden down with pouches, a powder horn, a flintlock, and what may or may not be a few grenades; holds her other hand out to Zoe.

"I recognize your voice (http://strongestgirl.livejournal.com/975.html?thread=29391#t29391) Dean Washburn. I'm Pippi. We didn't have to damage anything, Janet and Sam let me in. Nice to meet you... Sorta."

Zoe glances at Pippi and shakes her hand. "Good, I'm glad nothing was damaged. And it's nice to meet you to, although I can't say I don't wish it were under better circumstances." Looking Pippi over, Zoe points at the grenades. "Why don't you let me hold onto those?"

Pippi's handshake is very firm for a girl her size. "Like wise."

"Sure." she hands them over readily... Not like there aren't more in the corner. She rather misses the point of Zoe asking for the ones she has.

"Do you know how to use that gun?" Zoe asks. She knows she should probably just let the students handle themselves, but Pippi looks so young (even if she certainly doesn't shake like she is) that she has to ask.

"This gun?" she asks nodding to the M6D. "Yes mam. I've not see one quite like it, but it appears to be pretty basic point-and-shoot kinda thing. I'm sure it would have come in handy fighting off pirates, but I'm a little apprehensive about how it will do against... You know... snow."

Zoe smiles softly. "Well, I suppose we'll just have to find out, won't we? But if things start getting crazy, you should make sure you find someplace safe, all right?"

"No mam. If things start getting crazy, I'm going to protect people like my Papa taught me to."

Just then things started getting crazy, so Pippi grabbed some grenades off the table and made for the Clinic (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/572373.html?thread=27180757#t27180757).

Zoe gave a mental flail, and just hoped that Pippi would be all right. There were other things to worry about now.

Pippi is approached by her friend Walter (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/572373.html?thread=27184597#t27184597).

"Excuse me mam." she steps aside to talk to him.

Ivanova saw the dean walk in and slipped over, her gun out but low and non-threatening. "Morning, Dean Washburne," she said dryly. "Welcome to Girls With Guns Headquarters."

Kara looks up from sorting ammo and grins. "Safest place in the school."

"Safest place on the planet, probably," Ivanova replied with a matching grin. "I think we have enough firepower - and the willingness to use it - to take over a small country."

Kara laughs, as she shoves a pack of ammo in her gun. "First snow monsters, then a country, soon the world."

"The system will fall next," Ivanova continues grandly. "We've got the ships. Or had the ships. Or can build the ships. Soon the entire galaxy will be at our feet."

Kara smirks and puts her gun into her leg holster, saying, "All in good time."

Zoe laughs. "I like the sound of that plan. We'd probably do a better job too."

"You bet," says Kara. "Nice gun."
