Rory sat behind the desk reading On the Road and not at all thinking of anyone because of it.

Feel free to bug her for all your library aide needs.

Rory's back, and back to reading and sipping her coffee. But you can interrupt her if you must.

Archie comes in after Advanced Criminal Justice looking slightly preoccupied, and smiles at Rory. "You know, I suddenly realized that I'm not sure I ever got a library card, and after Driver's Education yesterday I think I might need it."

"You're in Driver's Ed?" Rory asked, blinking. "Okay, hang on."

She pulled out one of the forms, and handed it to Archie. "Blue or black ink. And we need your name, grade, room number and please don't put that you're the Chosen One, since I know you aren't and it'll make Janet cranky."

"Yes, Driver's Ed. Ridiculous, isn't it? But I needed a third class, and it was available, so there you are. The rest of my classmates terrify me, though. Oh, they're nice enough, but one started talking about something called jet fuel, one of them flies space ships, and another one offered to introduce me to what sounds like his sentient tank." Archie looks over the form. "Nobody ever informed me about being any kind of Chosen One, anyway. Er . . . do you have a pen?"

"Pen," Rory offered, holding out a black ballpoint pen. "And yeah, we have a couple of Chosen Ones here. And Janet doesn't like it being on the forms for some reason. And...why does it not surprise me that your Driver's Ed class is like that?"

"Because it's Fandom?" Archie laughs, and scratches his head a little bit at the thought of more than one Chosen . . . One. He doesn't see why it should be on the forms anyway.

He takes the pen and fills out the form neatly:

Sliding it back across the desk to Rory, he eyes the pen. "I still keep thinking I ought to have an inkwell to dip this in. Thankfully I got out of the habit of actually doing that sometime back in November."

"Inkwells are cool, though. But these? So much more convenient," Rory smiled. She processed his info, and handed him a shiny card. "There, it's all official. Anything I can help you find?"

"Well, before we actually start driving those shiny automobile contraptions in class, I'd like to know a little bit more about the way they work. But nothing too complicated." He smiles, looking slightly embarrassed. "Because all I came away with from the lecture yesterday is that I'll be strapped into a seat in uncomfortable proximity to a series of continuous explosions, and that's not terribly reassuring."

"Ah, okay," Rory smiled. "It's a lot less scary, really. You guys are learning automatic, yeah?" She filed through the card catalog while asking.

"Automatic?" He looks suddenly suspicious. "It drives itself? Why are we learning to drive it then?"

"It shifts automatically. You don't have to do as much work," Rory explained, grinning as she found the card.

"Okay! So, you'll want to be looking over that way," she pointed as she handed him the card. "Want help? You just look for the number on the little card."
