Sex Cultures: 6th Period

Grissom has a headache so he, without explanation, pulls a TV unit in and screens some old school sex-ed and hygiene films for the students, which certainly wasn't on the syllabus yet.

How to Say No: Moral Maturity
As Boys Grow

He feels the need to share his own high school torment with the youth of today. Or in some cases, the youth of eternity. Whatever.

Then he assigns The Role of Theory in Sex Research, which is 368 pages of absolutely no fun whatsoever, for the weekend.

Allie, who is totally naive and doesn't listen to the radio, smiles at Bel.

"Threaten anyone for hitting on your girlfriend lately?" she asks.

Han signs in.

The first film is silly enough, but by the second (drinking smoking and petting are BAD?) he's trying to cover his laughter with a coughing fit. Finally he gives up and puts his head on his desk until it's over.

He looks up, a rictus across his face his eyes watering. "So bad" is all he can manage through the gasps as he tries to get the laughter under control.

Paige signs in. And if she's only seen these video's before maybe her life would be different, it's okay to say no to alcohol and boys! If only some had told her!

She wonders what it would have been like to have lived in such innocent times, after watching the first video, she also wonders why Ann is so excited about her date with Woody, since he'd seems kind of a dork. She also laughs through a lot of the 'How to Say No' one since it was so badly acted and they seemed to be saying all the suggestions probably wouldn't work anyway. Also she finds the man in the last video sinister and disturbing.

Shep comes in and sets up his computer so that the back of the monitor directly faces Dr. Grissom. It looks like he's all set to take notes, but what's propped up on the keyboard is a book.

A whole book.

With no section twos mysteriously missing.

Grissom catches a glance of the text and cracks a grin.

"Mr. Sheppard. Nice to see a student so dedicated to his education," he deadpans.

Shep grins, but doesn't close the book or put it away.

"Thank you, sir. I thought a little extra credit with my girlfriend wouldn't hurt. You wouldn't think it would be so hard to get a copy of the required reading for this class around here, but it took me some serious effort to get this book."

Pip totally does not stare over Shep's shoulder. In no way. And he isn't engaging in some impressive personal seat gymnastics to do this without attracting attention either.

A paper Raptor with scribbling on it lands near Shep's foot. If he picks it up and unfolds it, it'll read:

Dude. How'd you get a hold of that? And how much can I bribe you to get a look at section 2?

Chiana resists the urge to join her mun in headdesking. The "how to say no" video is just too much. And really, what were the chances that she'd ever need to know how to do that?

Izzie signs in, not sure exactly what to think of the videos. They are incredibly silly, and she's hoping that the purpose of viewing them is for the ironic value. It's all she can do to suppress her giggles.

By the looks of her homework, she'll be doing homework all weekend.

Anders signs in and proceeds to spend the rest of the period sliding down in his chair in glassy-eyed confusion, hoisting himself back up, and then sliding down again. Lather, rinse, repeat.
