The Tick was behind his desk again, looking rather more rested. Lockheed was back on his usual spot on the bookshelf. ~~And the mun was rushing this class liek whoa!~~

"Hello, class! A quick announcement before we get started today. There will be a quiz next Thursday. It won't be much to worry about and it won't be heavy on details from the class thus far. It will just check your ability to reason things out in the name of Justice!"

"Today we will be looking at the flip-side of Tuesday's topic. Where there are heroes fighting for Justice, there must be villains working against it."

"Today I would like you to tell me about a villain or a villainous group from back home. If you will, please discuss with the class what he, she, or it did to get labeled as so darn villainous and whether or not they have been brought to Justice yet!"

"And if the discussion goes well today, I may even share a story about one of my arch-fiends ~~when the mun gets home from work so be sure to check back in~~ at the end of class. It'll be the story of a guy with a chair for a head. Come on, you know you want to hear about him!"

"Doesn't have to be a group. It can be just a villain," Marty pointed out helpfully.

The fact that he's looking at Angel and then Callisto and then back at Angel again doesn't mean he's making up some wild conspiracy theory about how Angel got the crap beaten out of him.

"Also true," Angel said. He sat back with a wince. "Back home it's usually just one big bad that does it. Everybody else is just a minion."

"So do they form a little formal group and talk about common goals and realization of them? Maybe have a little bake sale?"

"Well the Mayor did sometimes," Angel said. "But he was into scouts."

"Your mayor was evil? That's a pretty wacky concept."

"I think evil's more prevalent in the public sector than you'd think, unfortunately," Sam said, thinking of Kinsey.

"How so? Can you give an example?" Marty asked, his pencil all ready to take more notes.

"Nixon, although maybe he wasn't completely evil, just a criminal..."

"That's right," Angel said. "Agnew was the demon."

"Really?" Sam leaned forward in her seat. "That makes so much more sense, come to think of it."

"Not like those photos of him were Photoshopped," Angel pointed out. He made a face. "Ugly species. I don't envy 'em."

"Gotta admit it does explain a lot though," Angel said. "Like how the sewer system was big, got you everywhere you needed to go, and actually didn't smell that bad."

"Wait... He was evil because he was into working with boy scout troops and making sure that the public sewer systems worked? Sounds like a decent upstanding citizen to me," Marty replied.

"Well that and he liked to kill people."

"Hmmm. Yeeeeeah. That would be pretty evil. So I take it his work with scouts was more in the 'light snack' category than 'public service'."

"No, actually he really liked scouts," Angel said. "Big into Flag Day too."

"So he was a killer, but yet into family values and a patriot as well. Not sure how the whole "killing the town populace" worked when the re-election thing came about. He must have had some great campaign people."

"Republican," Angel said, as though that explained everything.

"Ah." Marty nods in understanding. It does explain everything.
