[OOC: I will be busy at the office all morning and probably be working against a deadline in the afternoon. Fun stuff. No clue how much I'll be able to reply udirng the day so Rory has permission to go crazy with the responses if she wants. Now ready for the usual scattered replies. Class Info Post.]

The Tick was behind his desk again, looking rather more rested. Lockheed was back on his usual spot on the bookshelf. ~~And the mun was rushing this class liek whoa!~~

"Hello, class! A quick announcement before we get started today. There will be a quiz next Thursday. It won't be much to worry about and it won't be heavy on details from the class thus far. It will just check your ability to reason things out in the name of Justice!"

"Today we will be looking at the flip-side of Tuesday's topic. Where there are heroes fighting for Justice, there must be villains working against it."

"Today I would like you to tell me about a villain or a villainous group from back home. If you will, please discuss with the class what he, she, or it did to get labeled as so darn villainous and whether or not they have been brought to Justice yet!"

"And if the discussion goes well today, I may even share a story about one of my arch-fiends ~~when the mun gets home from work so be sure to check back in~~ at the end of class. It'll be the story of a guy with a chair for a head. Come on, you know you want to hear about him!"

"Bob Destepello," Marty practically spat out with all traces of bitterness well apparent. "Complete jackass and school bully. ~~Destined to become a coke-snortin'-poetry-writing-BMW-Car Salesman. I mean selling Beemers? In Detroit? That's sacrilege!~~"

"Bullies. Truly the Scourges of Schooling. I'm sure that Justice will catch up with him eventually. Not necessarily police arresting him, but Life will administer its own brand of Justice."

When Angel comes into class he looks not only tired but hurt. There's red claw marks on his cheek, and he moves gingerly as he sits, almost as though he's got a bone or two broken.

He listens to the discussion question.

"Official organization or just a group of people as a concept? Because if it's the latter then vamps and demons handle that just fine. Former, I'd probably have to go with Darla's little culty friends."

"Xena." Callisto stated flatly. "Also called the Warrior Princess, or the Destroyer of Nations. Born in Amphipolis. Took up the sword about ten winters ago. Started out as a petty warlord and pirate. Got herself crucified by the Romans. Afterwards set her sights higher and cut a swath through Chin, and other lands to the North and East. Came back to Greece and the then the fun really started. Burned towns and villages all over Sparta, Thrace, Crete, even visted Troy. Has not been brought to Justice."

Callisto frowned and looked down at her hand. Funny, when did her pen break?

Marty turns in an autographed picture of Charlton Heston that he might have swiped from one of his roommates.

Marty sees the broken pen and mourns its loss. A good pen is very hard to find ~~and very useful for taking out would be assassins~~.

Veronica slides into her seat a few minutes late. Her eyes are puffy and she most definitely is not smiling.

And then she blanches at the discussion topic. She isn't sure if she wants to participate today.

"Doesn't have to be a group. It can be just a villain," Marty pointed out helpfully.

The fact that he's looking at Angel and then Callisto and then back at Angel again doesn't mean he's making up some wild conspiracy theory about how Angel got the crap beaten out of him.

Marty tosses a paper airplane at V with a note written on it.

You OK?

"Will it give something back that's the equivalent of an atomic wedgie?"

Callisto frowned and flicked a note onto Angel's desk.

What happened?

"If you consider a job like, say, car salesman the Atomic Wedgie of Life, then yes!"

Marty seems very content with that concept.

Tick looked concerned. "As Marty said, individuals are fine. As long as it's villainous. Are you okay?"

The Tick's sense of history wasn't too great, but something about this timeline seemed off. He let this slide, though. "It sounds like this Xena is a true fiend. I hope she is brought to Justice soon, Callisto. Do you need another pen?"

Veronica looks over and shrugs.

The Tick noticed that Veronica didn't seem to be in a good mood for discussion today, so he decided to let it slide if she didn't want to talk.

Marty just rolls his eyes at her. "What happened?" he mouths.

It was a really long winter. "Me too, Professor, ~~hopefully the kind involving a slow and painful death,~~" Callisto stared at the bits of pen. "And, uh, yeah, that would be...useful."

It occurred to Veronica that she might want to stop by The Tick's office some time and explain to him exactly what had happened back in Neptune so that he would understand if she was reluctant to talk about her personal experiences sometimes. Especially since Logan was in class, too.

She shakes her head and passes him a note.

Long story

Of course, she has no idea what, if anything, might have been said on the radio last night.

Marty gives Veronica a concerned look and nods. He then turns his attention back to class.

"Also true," Angel said. He sat back with a wince. "Back home it's usually just one big bad that does it. Everybody else is just a minion."
