Parker is in no kinda mood. Today is her day off. Feel free to ask for help but don't push it.

"Vampires?" Jack asked. "I saw the poster about Drusilla and Darla." He shivered. "And... yeah. Been a bit distracted. Weird news: my mom is now 17. So's the Doctor, for the record."

"I heard some stuff, but I didn't take it seriously," Parker marveled. "That's *wild*. So, uh. How's that going?"

"And you might want to stop by the clinic later. Vala's in there with a knife wound."

"It's going... weird. That seems to be my word of the day. But she's happy, and isn't hurt, so I think we're ahead on the numbers, you know?"

Jack listens to the news about the clinic. "Knife wound? What, she tried to stab Cam and tragically missed or something? She's okay, right?"

"I guess. I hope she changes back soon, though. That's gotta be awkward." She shook her head. "And no, it was Darla. She cornered Vala and Janet and the two Isabels last night, and while Vala was trying to get Izzie away from her, she got stabbed. She's going to be okay, though, yeah."

_{[and I go off to class, la, back in an hour]}

Jack's eyes bugged out. He'd better be careful, or they'll freeze that way. "Darla stabbed Vala? But she's okay? I better hit the clinic and see her."

"Definitely. I don't think she'll be there long, but Dr. House said she should miss classes this week." Parker grimaced. "And Crazy Squid Lady is on the prowl, too. She talked to Jarod Monday night. So if you're going out? Please, please go with a group, Jack."

"Oh, hell, yeah," Jack said fervently. "Sorry if I lose macho points, but dying messily isn't appealing. Dying messily because I was STUPID is even worse."

"Right there with you," Parker agreed. "I don't know what Janet did last night to mess up Darla, but she's my hero of the week. I had a gun and I stayed way the hell away from that bitch. Janet was close enough to almost get bitten. I'm about ready to wring Jarod's neck for going out by himself after dark."

"Go Janet. Wait, how did Jarod get into this? Was he attacked last night too?"

"No. Oh, get this: he walked home by himself from Caritas and Dru followed him and freaked him out. And by the luck of the Devil, she didn't feel like doing anything else. She must have snacked on something or someone earlier. And this was Monday, and he just tells me this morning over the phone, la di da. Grrrrrrrrr."

Jack shuddered. "Okay, Darla scared the shit out of me, but Drusilla? Is beyond that. He should just be glad she didn't pull the 'let's make you a homocidal maniac' trick on him. Want me to hold your coat while you kick his ass?"

"God, yes. He totally didn't get how lucky he was to walk away." Parker crossed her arms and sighed. "Our new Mountie says he's going try to help, but really. Vampires versus Mounties? It's not like it's pirates against ninjas. We need a nuclear weapon, damnit!"

"Tick, tick, tick, boom?" Jack supplies helpfully. "By the way, heard that the new security guy is extremely hot."

Parker grinned, cheered up a little. "Extremely. And polite. And well-spoken. And manly. He is ignoring or oblivious all subtle overtures. I may end up just tackling him when he's off-campus. You should definitely try to get on that, I'd like to know if my efforts are doomed by preference, not the age thing. He doesn't set off bells in either direction."
