Parker is in no kinda mood. Today is her day off. Feel free to ask for help but don't push it.

After stopping by Caritas for coffee, Isabel figured the library would be the best place to find Parker or Janet and see how Vala was doing.

Entering the library, she made straight for the desk.

"Isabel!" Parker sat up straighter. "Hey, how are you doing? I missed you after the clinic."

"I'm okay. Tired, I didn't sleep well." She rested her arms on the counter.

"How's Vala? I'm sorry I left, but Cam fell asleep and doctors really make me nervous. I did peek in before I left though. It seems like you had everything under control."

Parker made a face. "Janet and Dr. House did, yeah. If you ever need medical attention, Fraiser's the one to ask. She wants to be a doctor." Just like she was in her previous life. "And Vala's going to be okay, but she had to stay in the clinic. What the hell *happened*, exactly? Janet was too exhausted to talk afterwards, and Vala too doped up."

"She going to be okay? ~~no thanks to me?~~ Good, I kept telling Cam that but it's good to know it's true."

She rubbed her eyes and pushed her hair back out of her face. "It all happened so fast. We were leaving Caritas and suddenly she grabbed Izzie and put a knife to her throat. The next thing you know, Vala and Janet rushed her and got Izzie away while I just stood there like an idiot. And then it got ugly."

"Vala and Janet have experience with... stuff. Don't feel bad you didn't know what to do," Parker argued. "That bitch scares me stupid if I let myself think about it. Vampires are damn terrifying the first time you meet one." She sighed. "And yeah, she's going to be okay. Really."

"Morning, Parker. Er. It is still morning, right?"

"Last time I checked." Parker smirked at Zero. "And how are you doing?"

"Swerval. Bruised my elbow fallin' off that desk, but other'n that..."

"Heh. That's good. By the way? I love the hair." Parker tilted her head, studying it. "Didn't get a chance to say that yesterday." Then she sighed. "Okay, question: are you ever going out on another date with Broots?"

"Since I don't think we've actually talked since November or so? Probably not. Why? Plotting his murder? And is Esme back yet?"

"No -- it's going to be the end of the week-- and that's part of why." Parker put her head down on the desk and mumbled, "I have to kiss him in public."

"Pfeh," Rory said as she entered.

That might be interpreted as, "I hate Professor Skeeter, and I need more coffee, please and thank you."

"Right back atcha," Parker says. "And to whom is that lovely opinion directed?"

"Teacher. I have to write a thingy on something or someone I have a bias against or in favor of," Rory groaned. "And it's going to be hard. Also? I'm sleepy."

"Take the coffee, drink the coffee. By the way, your dad? Rocks. He gave me pie yesterday when I was depressed."

"My dad?" Rory asked, confused. "My dad lives in Connecticut. Oh, you mean Luke. Yes, Luke rocks muchly. He also gives donuts."

"Yeah, I know, stepdad. But he's still cool." Parker shrugged. "I was in there for dinner for all hell broke loose downtown, told him I lost a bet to explain the clothes, and he gave me pie. I wish there were doughnuts for today's stupidity coming up."

Zero shoves a cup of coffee toward Rory. "Bad morning?"

"Meh," Rory said, shrugging. "Not really. I'm just cranky because I'm tired and my teacher is obnoxious."

"Oh." Zero considered this. "You could nap on the cot?"

"We have a cot?" Rory asked. "Then how come we're always out here pretending we aren't asleep?"

"We did. In the librarian's office. It's what Professor Pierson lived on for a while, 'til he got his apartment. 'Course, it may have been replaced by...I don't know, whatever apes sleep on now."

Still here. Somewhere. Look for the orange.
