Fully awake, Rory is busily putting her OCD to work by organizing all the writing utensils behind the desk by color and style.

At some point, Angela nods to Parker and gestures towards the back of the library. "Ready when you are."

Parker grabs the dragon-hide gloves, and her pass from Professor Tick, and says, "We'll be back soon. We hope," before following Angela.

Rory idly wondered what they were up to.

But she knew better than to try to tag along.

Angela leads the way back, her own note from Dr. Grissom brandished in one hand. She stops just outside Special Collections. "So ... here we go. At least Rover's gone, right? And I have gloves." She holds up her gloved hands and gives a fingerwiggle that, for some strange reason, makes her want to say "buttery."

"Yes, and we have perfectly legitimate reasons and paperwork that says we can be here," Parker says, sounding more like she's giving herself a pep talk, rather than Angela. She puts on her gloves, then opens the door. "Jedi first? Then souls and soul-removal and prevention of same?"

"Sure. Why not," Angela says. "I might wuss out at the soul paert if things get too weird, so you know."

She frowns at her notebook. "Jedi stuff should be in the blue section, looks like? Also, the catalogue told me it might be, um, a hologram thingie instead a of a book. Which I hope we can play if it is."

"Blue section, yay." Parker took a breath. "Let's go."

Angela pushes the doors open and steps inside.

Things seem pretty normal. This is good.

She goes over to the anthropology shelves and inspects the spines of the books. "Here's something called Jedi Philosophy: An Overview, ashe calls. "Sounds liek a place to start."

"Great. I'm grabbing this one, on Jedi prophecies." Parker looks around uneasily. The Collection is unsettlingly quiet. She gets the impression of something waiting for them to make a mistake. "Let's take them to the study tables, and see what we find?"

"Sure," Angela says, looking relieved. She quickly run-walks to the study
tables just inside the double doors, and flips her book open. For a few
minutes, she doesn't talk, just reads and scribbles notes.

Finally, she raises her head from the book.

"This is pretty cool, Parker. It says that they really do have a big
thing about using the, quote "light side of the force." Which means they
aren't supposed to use their powers for evil." She makes a face. "Sounds
like something out of a bad movie. But, anyhow, the thing Anakin did to
Logan? I'm thinking it would be grey even for most Jedis. I think. The book's kind of fuzzy on the mind control stuff so far."

[OOC: Whoops. Fixed.]

"Okay, so, it isn't as simple as a cultural thing. Which means he might get in trouble, if we report him to someone. That's good to know. Do they get specific about what makes it right or wrong?"

She frowned at her own book. "This has got a reference to a -- scroll? Holo-whatsit? Something. On the Chosen One. I think I need to go back into the stacks and pull it out."

"Not exactly -- or maybe I just haven't found that yet. But there is a code they're supposed to abide by." Angela takes on a mock-pretentious, vaguely British voice as she reads: "Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy. Jedi use their powers to defend and protect, never to attack others. Jedi respect all life, in any form. Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy. Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training."

She raises her head from the book. "I'm thinking screwing with people's minds against their will is going against that, yeah? At least, if it's something Anakin signed on with."

"And isn't Anakin one of the ones who says he's a Chosen One? That might be impoortant."

"I'm pretty sure he was one of the ones who put that on his library card application until Janet got peeved. Let me go grab that." Parker went back into the stacks, and let her fingers trace over the edges, until she came to a locked wooden case, the kind that usually held scrolls. She took it out of the bookcase and back to the study area, she opened it up--

And immediately, a swirl of lights shot up from it, coalescing into a small, fuzzy image, of what looked like a demented gremlin, wearing a robe and carrying a staff.

"Greetings. Yoda am I. Grand Master of Jedi Order. Prophecy of Chosen One, you will hear."

Angela rubs her eyes in confusion.

Yep, the green guy is still there.

"Hello, Master Yoda."

Well, it never hurrts to be polite.

Parker waves a hand at it, and then, even knowing it might be stupid, through it. The image flickers, then re-establishes itself within a second, and she cautiously asks, "Can you see us?"

"Knight of the Order, and Senators, listen now."

"I think it's a recording."

"Origins of this prophecy, lost in time. Old as the order of Jedi. Chosen One to be born without father, from the Force. To bring balance, to the Force will he."

"How do they know it's going to be a guy?"

"It's always a guy," Angela says with a roll of her eyes. "Women get to be moms, girlfriends, or asexual sidekicks only. Whole Biblical thing, and it doesn't surprise me the Jedi world isn't any better."

"Does Anakin have a dad? I've never heard him talk about any family other than Obi-Wan."

Parker frowned. "Neither have I. Which doesn't mean he doesn't have one, but then again, I'm not claiming to be a Chosen One." She made a face. "And Summers had Chosen One down too, although, she certainly doesn't seem to do much to claim the title."

"Dark times unfold across the galaxy. Chosen One to be born in their midst. Connection with the Force, will he have. Most strong." The little gremlin-being's face puckered up in worry, and he pounded his little holographic stick on the ground in front of him. "Midi-chlorian count to be taken, would show strongest ever. More strong than any Jedi living. Any Jedi, dead."

Angela watches Yoda speak with a look of concern on her face.

"The midi-chlori-thingies were in my book. It says they're kind of like this thing that's in your blood and shows how connected to "the Force" you are -- which is kind of like, how close are you to God, I guess, though they don't really put it that way. Jedis have really high numbers of them."

"So, out of all the high rollers in all the galaxy, this Chosen One is throwing double sixes every time?" Parker asked, folding her arms. "Oh, fabulous."

"Skills he has, before training. Higher than others. Stronger. Skywalker, Chosen One may be, yes. Jedi Council unsure was. Older than most brought to Temple. Problem. Accepted as padawan, by Obi-Wan Kenobi, after Qui-gon his Master's death." Yoda's image sighed. "Guard him, we must. Train him, we will. Prophecy to be fulfilled, we do not know." He shook his head. "We do not know. Skywalker has strength to be Chosen One. Re-shape the galaxy. Destroy the Sith, perhaps. Balance the Force, and how: difficult is to say. Unclear the future is. Hope we can. Only hope."

The little image faded out, with Parker gaping at it.

"That's it?"

"I think so?" Angela says, peering at the holo-thingie. "There doesn't seem to be a way to get more."

She rubs her forehead. "I liked it so much better when Anakin just used his pwoers to mess with glitter and get drinks. Because .... wow, does this sound serious."

"Extremely serious," Parker said, equally disturbed. "So, he's a member of the White Shiny Knights of the Galaxy, he's maybe their new Messiah-- and they let him come here? Without a teacher? What were they thinking?"

She rubbed her face. "Does your book say anything about, I don't know, bad Jedi? Ones who are considered out of control? Maybe-- God, I hope-- we're worrying for nothing. If he can't go bad, maybe it's okay that he's ... that powerful."

"Not yet, but..."

Angela flips to the index, then to another page. Her face goes white as she reads. "It sounds like they can go bad. It's called listening to the dark side of the force -- and god, this is way too Galaxy Quest for me. And if he abuses his powers too much..." She begins to read aloud again.

"Under the influence of the Dark Side or the power of their own emotions, Jedi may be misled and sign on with the Sith Warriors, to join their battle for destruction. The evil done by the Sith is vast, and beyond the scope of this volume."

"So ... he can go bad."

[OOC: Getting dinner, back in a bit.]

"This... is not the answer I was hoping for." Parker pushed a hand through her hair. "Right. The Sith, that's who the Jedi want him to destroy. And he could become one. And he's the most powerful superpowered monk since forever."

She put her head down on the table. "We're gonna need a bigger boat."

"You think? I'm not sure we could even build a boat that big."

Angela collapses onto the desk.

"We are so doomed."
