Professor Chaucer's Office Hours, Monday

Professor Chaucer is sitting behind his desk, feet kicked up on the edge, staring out the window. He has a pocket watch which he keeps turning over in his hands. He doesn't look to be in a terribly good mood, although he'll probably talk to you if you bother him. The door to the office is closed, so you'll need to knock or be rude and barge in.

"Scotch and whiskey sound good, if you're serious about the tempting. Either way, I'll walk you out if you don't mind. I think I'm ready to abandon this place anyway."

Geoff stands and slips the watch into his pocket, then pulls on his coat.

"Is there a grocery nearby? I could always stop and get beer..."

"Oh, I'm serious about the tempting. Nearest store is in town. We could walk and head back to my place so I can let Cash out." House steps out the door ahead of him.

Geoff shrugs. "Luckily for us, it's not a very big town," he says. "That sounds like a good plan. Or, if you'd rather, I can run out for the beer and meet you back at your place, so Cash doesn't have to wait."

He pulls the door shut and locks it. "I'm easy," he adds, with a half-hearted smile.

House scoffs playfully. "I never would have guessed." He arches a brow and grins. "Yeah, but that's probably a good idea. He's probably crossing his legs and cursing me right about now. You get the beer, I'll leave the door unlocked."

"You've got a deal, House. I'll be by in a little while."

Turning at the outer door, Geoff stops and looks at House. "Thanks," he says softly.

Then he gives his coat a tug and walks off toward town.
