Gun Club - Firing Range

Parker's got the Firing Range open, the targets are all set, and the safety rules are all posted:

This is not a game.

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

Breaking any of these rules means an immediate visit with Mr. Smith, or ~~Rover~~ whoever our new security guy is.

Parker's smile grew more feline. "I've certainly always thought so." Bye, Rover! Have a nice life! "Although I do wonder how successful you'll be at replacing a wandering, teleporting, giant white ball. But at least you're better dressed." She flicked his lanyard with one finger, teasingly, then grinned.

"I don't believe I'm replacing him," Fraser says, watching her flick the lanyard with some amusement, "but succeeding him. He kept this school safe in his way and I hope to do the same. Tell me, does this gun range get much use?"

"Off and on," Parker drawled. "Gun Club once a week, and there are the devotees who make it a point of keeping up their scores more often. No one gets to use it during Gun Club until after I've made sure they've seen and agreed to the rules. And everyone understands they have to check their weapons at the door when they get here." She shrugged one shoulder lazily, then gave him a wicked smile. "So. You want to check your weapon here, or as our new Security Guy, are you going to keep it close?"

"Any weaponry I might use to perform my duties should say close to me," Fraser tells her. "I am glad to hear that the gun range is used responsibily and that you have taken on that task of making sure these weapons are not abused."

Parker nodded seriously, fighting a serious case of twitchy palms. No touch, no scare, no no no. "I am a firm believer in taking responsibility." She sighed deeply, and shook her head, then pouted at him, eyes sparkling. "So. If I need to find you, if someone's in trouble, where would I go looking? Rover just always appeared. Are you going to be swinging down from the ceiling?"

"Well, I have managed to set up a voicemail for myself and would be happy to give you that number. I am usually reachable at all times of the night and do plan on purchasing some form of pager so I can be reachable even if I am not near my phone," Fraser says.

Parker just barely managed to keep her tongue in her mouth at this offer. And what will you be wearing? Mama mia.

"I would so appreciate that," she said seriously. "As the Clearinghouse officer for the Investigator's Club, I'd like to be able to reach out to Security at any time. People do tend to contact me when there's a problem." She smiled brightly. "And my number is 555-MISS, if you feel the need to ask me any questions, Constable."

"Very good." Fraser jots down his number and hands it over. "For any security emergencies you might have, don't hesitate to call."

"I certainly won't," Parker assured him, letting her fingers hang onto his, again, just a moment too long. "Is there anything I can do for you? A tour of the school, a welcoming cup of ... coffee?"

The eyebrow tilt on this is probably not at all innocent.

Fraser smiles but shakes his head. "I've toured the school already and, while coffee sounds good, I should really stay on school grounds in case of an emergency. I do thank you for the offer. You're too kind."

"Just here to help," Parker chirps sunnily. "Welcome to Fandom High!" And three cheers for Dudley Do-Right, and all his spiritual descendants.
