Josh sat at his desk eating a sandwich and flipping through the Washington Post as he waited for the members of the Student Council to arrive.

He pointed to the sign-in sheet when they arrived. "Welcome to the new incarnation of the Student Council. I know most of you, but for those I don't, I'm Josh Lyman. I teach history, government, and politics now, but up until a few weeks ago, I was the deputy chief of staff for the Bartlet Administration. I'm here to tell you that actual politics bears a shockingly close resemblance to Student Council work--the only difference is the national government has more funding and we spend less time worrying about school spirit and pep rallies."

Josh swung his feet onto his desk. "Because there are twelve of you representing the various classes here, I want you all to have an equal say--but we do need one person to be more equal than others. Someone who wants to be in charge. Someone who, and this is very important, isn't me."

He rubbed his hands through his hair. "First order of business, then: who wants to be President?"

"ESCAPE THE BONDS OF TYRANNY! DECENTRALIZATION OF POWER! DELIVER FREEDOM TO ALL! PROVIDE A SAFE & SECURE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT! SENTIENT MACHINES ARE PEOPLE TOO! uh... REDUCED VENDING MACHINE PRICES!"

Blair wasn't really sure what was going on but he pumped a fist in support of the message.

"Right on man!"

"Fight the establishment!"

"Kill the Gremlins!"

"What?!" Blair stood up quickly and pointed his finger at Marty. "That's so not cool man! You think it's right to wipe out the population of a creature you don't like? Just kill things because they happen to not be happy little creatures?"

"Uh... Fight the power?" Marty offers weakly

"Not if that's the way you're going to fight it, man. If all you're going to do is spew out the same hate rhetoric that the man does...then maybe you should be joining that power instead of fighting it." Blair pratically vibrated with anger.

"Love thy neighbor?" Marty says meekly.

"Gee that's a funny way you express love there. 'Kill the Gremlins' is love how?" Blair glared at Marty disdainfully.

"The way I express love? You didn't get a voice mail about ferrets did you?"

Callisto aimed a light thwap at Marty's head.

"You abandoned our party, you don't get to use our rhetoric anymore."

"Ow! Hey! Are you opressing my rights to free speech! 6 would be ashamed!"

"You abandoned our Batsh*t Crazy ideals, 6 would be even more ashamed of you!"

"I abadoned the race for power in this puppet regime! I never gave up my ideals! I'm still as Batsh*t Crazy as I ever was!"

"Yeah, I don't think anyone's doubting that, Blank. Considering your main objection to joining Student Council was what? That you'd have to show up? Pffttt."

Marty yawns. "What's that Parker? I'm getting drowsy."

Parker grins, evilly.

"When in the course of human events, I decide it's time for me to be elected to an office with the most minions, and the ability to piss people off and tell them what to do..."

"ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz..."

Parker did a silent victory dance of glee.

Josh caught Parker's eye. "Staffers. Not minions."

Parker cleared her throat. "Staffers. And Staff. And those willing to do things because I tell them to...."

Pip pointed over to Marty. "What Marty said."

Marty tosses off a salute to the new student. "Pip, right? Did we meet at the whole new student gathering thing?"

"Bingo," Pip responded. "You were handing out nametags, as I recall."
