Library is Open, January 18

Zero, still yawning, opens up the library. She tacks a sign on the door, which reads:

Winifred Burkle, please report to the library for your corrected library card.

Then she settles in behind the desk, mp3 sunglasses firmly in place to conceal that she is, in fact, napping. Come on in, folks. She'll be here allllll day.

"Pretty slow. We were wondering if Sandburg could power a perpetual motion machine, but that was about it. Oh, did you talk to Dr. Grissom about that pass for Special Collections yet?"

"I did not," Angela admits. "Sorry. I've been kind of distracted. But I have class with him today, so I should be able to get it then."

"What should I tell him we want to study?"

Zero frowns on overhearing this conversation. "We have to have passes for Special Collections now?"

Angela blinks a few times. "Not sure. I think we were both thinking that because it's not really library business, we should get one? But you and Parker have been here waaaay longer than me."

[swerval_zero]

"Well, yes, I guess that'd be the proper thing to do. 'Course, you could always just leave a sacrificial cup of espresso and pray."

Angela shudders. "If Grissom won't help, we might do that, but I'm not going anywhere near SC without taking every possible precaution, afetr the whole thing that happened last time. I want to stay me until I get out of there."

Parker taps her fingers on the counter, thinking, then says, "The Jedi, and their history and traditions. Tell him about Anakin mentioning some of the different cultural standards, and wondering how Jedi are trained to use their mental powers. If he asks why you don't just ask Anakin, mention that it seemed kind of personal to him, and you didn't want to put him on the spot. Which is all true, just not the point."

Angela nods, lips in a grim line. "I can manage that. I'll call you tonight and let you know what he said, 'cause the class isn't until sixth period."

"No problem." She cocked her head. "You seem to be doing better. I'm glad."

"A little, yeah. I mean, it still sucks, but I don't feel quite as much like crying all over the place -- it does seem like this was the right thing to do somehow. Thanks for noticing."
