Library is Open, January 18

Zero, still yawning, opens up the library. She tacks a sign on the door, which reads:

Winifred Burkle, please report to the library for your corrected library card.

Then she settles in behind the desk, mp3 sunglasses firmly in place to conceal that she is, in fact, napping. Come on in, folks. She'll be here allllll day.

The Librarian can be seen, having emerged from his hammock, moving amongst the shelves. He appears to be slightly hungover, for an orangutan anyway.

Blair comes in and dumps a pile of notebooks on a table and bounces happily as he starts highlighting and making index cards.

Janet dropped by during fourth period. Wednesdays were way too busy for her.

Zero turned off her sunglasses, something resembling awake by this point. "Morning. Or something."

"Hey. What's going on? Anything?" Parker was yawning but rested from Hell Day, as she tended to think of Tuesday.

Zero waved a hand out at the library in general. "People. Books. Ape. That Blair kid is bouncy."

"And he hasn't had caffiene." Parker watched Rubber Boy study for a moment, then said, "He's on Student Council now. I wonder if we could wire him up as an energy source for a back-up generator." She yawned. "We need to torment Dr. Pierson some more tomorrow. You ready?"

"Oh, that's just not fair.

"For torment? Always." Zero grins at Parker. "It'll be fun."

Parker snickered, then frowned. "Watching a couple of the off-worlders and foreign students flail in there reminds me that Blair was mentioning a Help Study plan. Which might be easier to implement than tutoring. Would you be up for helping out our mor confused compadres in there?"

Parker waved to him as she came in.

"Hey, congrats on StuCo, Parker!" he says, grinning.

"Thanks!" Parker preened happily. "Hopefully it'll all be easier from here on in. What are you up to?"

"That's not a bad idea. I mean, I don't know that much about British history either, 'cept what Dad says. S'why I'm takin' the class. But I'm at least, you know. From Earth."

"You'll be fabulous," he says. "Me? I'm bored as sin."

Without looking up from her music magazine, Zero called across the library, "Then you're doing it wrong."

"Yeah, and who thought that would ever be an advantage?" Parker shook her head. "I'll let you know after the first meeting, but hopefully we can get it up and running before Lee and Vala stress themselves into flunking."

Janet waved at Zero as she started looking up resources for her Paleontology homework. "It's nearly afternoon," she said. "How's it going?"

Angela pops into the library after her math class. "Hey. Did you guys miss me yesterday?"

"Yes, of course!" Parker grinned. "I was only here for two periods, but I miiiiissed you."

Parker chokes at this, and manages to smother a giggle. "Hmmm. Sorry you're bored already. How are your classes? How's the toast-making?" She grinned and added, "Your hair looks fabulous, so I won't ask about that."

Lee blinks. "Errr... classes are okay, just... man, they're tougher this semester. Toast's same as usual.... and hey," he says, running a hand though his hair, "thanks. Your hair is lovely as always too." And he feels like a total dork after saying that. Argh.
