Library is Open, January 18

Zero, still yawning, opens up the library. She tacks a sign on the door, which reads:

Winifred Burkle, please report to the library for your corrected library card.

Then she settles in behind the desk, mp3 sunglasses firmly in place to conceal that she is, in fact, napping. Come on in, folks. She'll be here allllll day.

Rory wandered in after second period, coffee in hand.

"Hi all!"

Angela waves. "Hey!"

"What's up?"

"Nothing much, actually. How're you doing?" Rory asked.

"Better. I spent last night hiding in my room writing bad poetry, so ti htink the emo is contained. For now."

She sighs. "Have you talked to Marty? Does he sound okay?"

Rory shook her head. "I haven't seen him in awhile. I think he might be avoiding places you usually go, which explains why I haven't...seen him. Yes."

Angela thinks about this for a minute, feeling guilty. "I bet you're right. I mean, he's been in a few classes with me, but he he hasn't really said anything. Besides, why would we even say?"

"Hey, Rory." Parker waved. "Did you finish that profile thing? I wanted to read it."

"Oh, yeah, here," Rory said, pulling her extra copy (http://www.livejournal.com/users/rory__gilmore/39946.html#cutid1) of the profile out. "Yours is the one on top, obviously."

Parker laughed at "dangerous. Smart. Rabbit owner." smiled at the bit about being a good friend and the newest representative, nodded at the rest until--

"SPECIAL FRIEND?! Gilmore!"

Rory ducked.

"Parker, this is a library. Shhhhhhh."

Parker spluttered. "Special friend? Oh my god, what? Why? You put this in your homework!" she hissed.

"But he is special to you," Rory argued, attempting to sneak out from behind the desk into the main library.

Parker jumped off her swivel-chair and moved to intercept her. "He's a friend! You made it sound like, like, ohmigod, like we're a thing." She shook the paper in Rory's face. "And we're not!"

"You should be!" Rory protested, still trying to escape.

Then she noticed Anakin (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/525977.html?thread=24739481#t24739481) approaching the desk. "Look. We have a student to help!"

"Lucky for you," Parker said, then smirked when she saw who it was. "Go help your 'friend.' We are talking about this later, even if I have to take you in to Caritas and have Jarod explain it to you."

Well, that woke Zero up from her nap. "Huh? Wha? Oh, we're talking about Jarod."

"Yes, Parker's special friend," Rory nodded, because she has a deathwish.

"Yeah, that's what tipped me off it was Jarod." Zero? Also a deathwish, apparently.

"He is not!" Because oh my god, it's too weird not to freak about.

Boredly: "Liar."

Parker's back to spluttering with outrage. "I am not a liar. We aren't dating, we've never kissed, we don't want to, he just started dating someone, and I don't know where you people are getting these ideas!"

"I never said any of those things. I said he was your special friend. You're the one who assumed I meant you were havin' the sex." Zero pushes her sunglasses up onto her forehead. "Parker, is there something you want to share with the class?"

"I'm having sex with Jack Harkness!" Parker blurted. "And Rory thinks Jarod and I should date." She calmed down a little, grumbling. "And she won't give it up. Jeez."

"Nothing wrong with not giving up," Zero says softly. Then her expression sharpens. "Jack Harkness? He hang you upside down by one ankle, or was that a one-off thing? Pure curiosity, mind."

Zero made a 'murfle' sound and returned to her nap. Tinny Sex Pistols can be heard from the earpieces of her sunglasses.
