Zero staggers into the library, clutching a cup of coffee like a lifeline. "Why am I awake? I don't have class until this afternoon. I must be insane. That's it. Yeah." She stares mournfully at her coffee.

"Fish started in on that 'Are you my mummy?' business again. I really am gonna kill Twitch." Zero popped a few chocolate-covered espresso beans and grinned at Janet. "Thanks. I needed that. And I'm glad you liked the band. It was fun!"

"Pretty much. Flora's kinda miffed an' thinks all the boys here are gay, but since I'm not sure she's wrong I didn't bother to correct her. Toby caught on there's something weird afoot. I think he saw a gremlin trying to escape the carnage."

"I don't think they're all gay," said Janet. "But they sure as hell aren't all only into girls. Or even mostly aren't only into girls." She popped an espresso bean in her mouth. "You know what I meant. I'm not awake yet. So Toby's the only one who's remotely suspicious? You can tell him the gremlin was someone's Furby. Maybe he'll believe they make running Furbies these days."

"Oh, no, they all think I'm insane. And Rory's insane, and probably a couple other people besides. But I managed to keep them from thinking the school was insane, which...seemed really important at the time. Considering the headache it gave me? In retrospect, not so much. Toby might buy the Furby thing, actually. He thinks they're pure evil anyway."

"Zero, I think you're insane," said Janet, grinning at her. "But only in the fun kind of way. I wouldn't worry. They'll probably rationalize everything away after a few weeks. Especially if you tell them one of the computer science students reprogrammed their Furby to be evil. As long as Toby doesn't find out we don't have a computer science program."
