Library, 1/16

A subdued and somewhat red-eyed Angela opens the library at the start of second period and props herself behind the collections desk. She casts a glance at the pile of books to be sorted; she'll get to them eventually.

And then she just sits there, staring into space and thinking.

She has her head buried in her hands, but she would be more alert if someone came in. Probably.

Susan laughed. "Oh dear. Really? True of some people?" She fished a black pen out of her purse, and began to fill out the form. "I suppose if you're the Chosen One of Australia, that it's different from being the Chosen One of Mars, at that. When will this be ready for me to use? And are there any extraordinary rules about using the library here?"

"Well, we have a Chosen One of an entirely different galaxy, and one who's from...California, I think?" Rory shrugged. "And you can start using it immediately. Um, as far as extraordinary rules...Special Collections is dangerous, and you probably shouldn't go in without telling one of us," she waved around at the other girls, "or the Librarian first. Other than that, standard library rules, basically."

"Galaxy. That's right, there are aliens here. And I thought I was adjusting marvellously to the magical aspects of this place." Susan shook her head. "Dangerous how?"

"A couple of friends of mine got stuck in there about a month ago, and met a dragon. And it'll change around to deliberately confuse people," Rory said. "It's fine if you stick to where you're supposed to. It's when people wander away that things go wrong."

"Good heavens. Why would anyone go in there in the first place, then?" Susan passed over the completed form, and put away her pen. "Thank you for your help. I appreciate your assistance."

"Absolutely no problem. And that's where the magical or very old books are kept. And the pornography, but that's less of a danger, usually," Rory nodded. "So sometimes it's neccessary to go in."

"Ahhhh." Susan stopped for a moment, arrested. "Books of magic." She frowned, torn. "But then again, dragons... really are not to be trifled with." As Eustace had learned, to his cost. "Perhaps after I've had some time to acclimate, and if one of the staff has time? I have a pet research project that I'd like to work on, but I certainly don't wish to cause anyone any trouble."

"Sure. I'm newish, so I'm probably not the best choice. But we could totally take you through, no problem," Rory nodded, feeling helpful.

"Thank you, Rory. That would be lovely." Susan smiled brightly. "I'll be back tomorrow for my card, then. And in a few weeks, perhaps an excursion." And perhaps, just perhaps, a way home. "Have a lovely day."

"You too, Dr. Pevensie!" Rory said with a cheery wave.
