Library, 1/16

[chasingangela]

A subdued and somewhat red-eyed Angela opens the library at the start of second period and props herself behind the collections desk. She casts a glance at the pile of books to be sorted; she'll get to them eventually.

And then she just sits there, staring into space and thinking.

She has her head buried in her hands, but she would be more alert if someone came in. Probably.

"Yes, Parker, I voted. Deep breaths. Don't want the ulcer to rear its ugly little head again."

"True." Parker sighed. "I just have this horrible fear that suddenly a new write-in candidate will show up, and everyone who's pissed off at me will decide not to vote for competence, but just for anyone else. Or Alanna and Liz will get all the votes, and we won't have a third rep." She laughed tensely. "But that's silly."

"Easy, Parker. You're gettin' anxiety all over me. S'gonna be fine, you'll see."

"Yeah, yeah." Parker sighed. "Do you have any idea why Phoebe's not in the race any more? That's another thing making me tense."

"No clue. Seems kind of weird she'd pull out at the last minute, 'specially after she worked so hard jumpin' every which way she thought public opinion'd go. Like with the gremlins.

Hey, maybe the gremlins made her not run?"

"Great, now the gremlins are a voting bloc." Parker shook her head. "I don't know, but all her posters are gone, and no one's seen anything of her for a day or so. It's unnerving."

Zero looks very concerned. "You don't think she maybe disappeared, do you? I'd hoped that was over with. Or. Her boyfriend's pretty creepy."

"I don't know. I think I'd better ask him. If he'll even deign to answer." Parker sighed and swiveled off her chair. "Keep your fingers crossed that he doesn't feel like throwing fireballs for a simple question."

Parker came back about ten minutes later, looking disturbed. "Phoebe was attacked by demons over the weekend. She's not running because she's still hurt."
